I'm pretty happy with these. The soft rubber compound and complex directional tread pattern really grabs on ice and snow. This is my winter set, and I've just put them back on for this season after running them Jan to April last year. I had chance to examine them off the vehicle, and my treadware is minimal, very even across the tire, and the rubber is still very flexible. The stiping is still very prominent at about 8K miles. A short trip on dry pavement reminds me they are winter tires - they roar (a little, it's not that noticeable depending on surface. If I had the radio on and windows up, I'd never notice) and they tend to squeak a bit in the corners. For the price I definitely recommend them.
