Initial Review, 40,000 Miles on Tires I've had many sets of Firestone tires over the last twenty some years and they always exceed my expectations and the FR710s were no exception. These tires were very smooth when I bought them. When they were new I was in a rainstorm where there was about an inch of water on the road and the traction was unexpectedly good. Later when the tires had about 23000 miles on them I was in a similar storm and the traction was still very impressive. I crossed the mountains of Pennsylvania in several snowstorms over the last few winters and I'm very comfortable and confident with these tires. I had 40000 miles on the tires when I traded the car in and there was plenty of tread left. There's nothing fancy about these tires but the do the job.
