Firestone Destination ST
Initial Review: 6,000 miles on tires
December 10, 2011

I purchased a set for my '09 Durango Limited due to the very positive reviews. The expectations were met completely. Ride quality on this vehicle is fantastic, muted effect over just about anything, so quiet. Heavy rain is barely felt through runoff. Did get a chance to use them in Flagstaff in snow which then turned to a dangerous freeze. Don't expect traction like they are monster truck tires, antilocks went crazy along with traction control but was predictable. Note: When first installed, they had a tendency to take a lead one way to the other giving the impression there was an alignment issue. Per this vehicle, it took nearly 1000 miles to wear in and flatten to an on-rails perfect feel. They are sensitive to deep/uneven grooves on the road, probably because of the deep channel, but what a fantastic and silky ride even for such a ridiculously wide tire size on this SUV. Cornering is excellent w/o scrub, high speed freeway swells don't create a wallowing sway on curves AT ALL! No comparison to the factory Goodyear SR-A's which droned and reverberated all road noise like drums and had a horrible sidewall flexing on curves/swells. Enjoy driving again, trust mine and the other reviews - amazing for Firestone to make me a first time purchaser in their brand. I'm normally a Michelin guy but with an SUV made for Hemi cruising, these appeared to be the best (V speed rating!)choice. Glad people took the time to write about these tires!
