Initial Review, 50,000 Miles on Tires
I put these on my 2001 Chev Silverado when this tire first came out. The truck had the original A/S on it which were worn out. I did immediately notice a 2-3 mpg drop after the Destination A/T's were put on. That being said though, this is a great tire! The first snow I drove through with them (I'm in Minnesota) I could not believe how amazing the traction was. I had times pulling in the garage, when the front tires would get on the slippery painted floor, there rear would actually push the truck in with the front tires sliding. Same went with summer driving and rain. Now with 50,000 miles on the tires, I took it out in our last snow storm (13") and noticed a massive difference in traction. The tires are much more slippery and must be much more cautious driving in slippery conditions, and they are getting quite noisey on the highway. All in all though it has been a great tire, although I think next I may try the new Destination LE2's to see if I can get some milage back since I am mostly highway, other than then couple miles of gravel getting to the cabin.
