RECOMMENDATION: Every street driver should go through at least one set of these things just to feel what real performance is like. Given their low cost and quick wear, what do you have to lose!
Best street performance I have ever seen, and fantastic autocross. Stopping power is beyond anything I ever owned. I took a Skip Barber driving class at Road Atlanta and used the Maxx on their autocross course. It was a lot of fun chasing down the various big buck stuff. I am confident I put in better times with the MAXX then I did in the Cayman or the 911, both of which understeered. The MAXX is 'prepared' with stiffer rubber in the stearing rack and top strut mounts, and was neutral in the faster corners, and had slight oversteer in the slower corners.
One of the instructors snuck over later to examine the front tires for signs of understeer, like ground down edges or chunking. The tires were and still are evenly worn. However, they will not last long with spirited driving. I never bothered to rotate the tires and the fronts are ready for replacement at about 10,000 miles, while the rears look less then half worn down. They are noisier then most tires I have owned, but not the noisiest.
