Initial Review, 10,000 Miles on Tires
Overall, this a very good tire. I am driving a Eurospec VW Touran 1.9TDI in Germany and with it being a Highline, I have the factory sport suspension. Overall, I am impressed with how they handle. Coming from ExtremeContact DWS, it is a slight downgrade, and different class of tire, but a predictable tire. I drive spiritedly some days and easy others. Snow traction is very good in my opinion as the traction control very rarely intervenes. Braking is decent in snow and good in dry. Wet traction is OK, but I trust every tire as far as I can throw it in the rain. Steering response is really good and accurate and with my Touran, I have no problem keeping up with other drivers and/or showing them up. They do not let you know when they are ready to give up though. That could boil down to electric steering though. Most cars lack tactile feedback with electric steering setups, so I won't ding the tire for that. ECO, don't know. I average 42MPG for the most part, so I don't know if I am really seeing the return in my wallet with the ECO rating. As I am on my 5th set of Conti's, I have lots of faith in this brand. I have driven on many different brands, but I tend to come back to Conti. This is my 3rd set in a row as I had the ExtremeContacts on an E39 530d and enjoyed those. With Conti, you really can't go wrong, and why pay more for the other brands. I trust Conti and will stick with them and of course, TIRE RACK. Can't beat the service and knowledge. I have no problem recommending this tire to anyone that is looking for a good all season tire.
