Follow-Up Review: 15,000 miles on tires
March 19, 2014
After a little more than a year and 15,000 miles on these tires my very favorable opinion of them has not changed. We are just wrapping up a pretty bad winter and I had no problems whatever. Wet traction is still great and treadwear appears to be normal and even. I have no problem recommending these tires to anyone looking for a great handling all season tire.
Initial Review: 2,500 miles on tires

These tires replaced the stock Dunlop Sport 2050's on my Mazdaspeed 3. Since I now need this car as a year round daily driver and don't want to do the summer tire / winter tire swap thing these Continental DWS's seemed like the best bet. While the warm weather handling is just about as good as the Dunlop's the Conti's are much smoother and quieter. The biggest difference is when it gets cold. Below freezing the Dunlop's handling and ride quality are significantly reduced while the Conti's maintain their excellent performance. Now after two decent snow events they performed flawlessly. The Dunlops were undriveable in any snow at all. I am aware that is the price to pay for summer tires but considering the Continentals cost $100 less per tire with year round capability I consider them quite the bargain. Smooth and quiet ride, very good if not excellent dry and wet handling, very good snow handling and an excellent value to boot make this purchase a no brainer to me. The only question remaining is treadlife but with a 540 treadwear rating how bad could it possibly be?
