Initial Review, 1,000 Miles on Tires
I have an '08 BMW 328i w/ sport pkg and 6-speed manual. I drive this car hard. The original Bridgestone RE050A RFTs were the absolute WORST tires I have ever had: deafeningly loud, horrible tramlining, terrible in rain, and they made the car ride like a cement truck. For the first time after 3 BMWs, I began to regret getting a Bimmer. At 20,000 miles, I'd had enough of the Bridgestones. Tire Rack highly recommends the Conti DWS's for the 3-series, but I was nervous about getting them after reading reviews saying that they ruined the handling and steering response. DO NOT BELIEVE THESE REVIEWS! The Conti DWS's have simply transformed my car...bringing out the best of the 3-series. The ride is still taut...but now creamy smooth...the handling and steering response: still sharp and direct...but no more deafening noise...I can actually hear my radio now! Since dumping the RFT's, my car feels like it's 500 pounds lighter. The Conti DWS tires should be standard equipment on all 3-series. They're perfect for 99.9% of drivers, on 99.9% of roads. If you autocross your car, get Michelin Pilot PS 2's. I've only driven 1000 miles so far...so will report back at 20,000 miles to see if I still love these tires!
