Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS Pole Position
Initial Review: 500 miles on tires
March 15, 2013

OE on my car was the Continental ContiProContact SSR (self supporting run flat). I had 50k on the conti's and they still had at least 10-15k of life left on them but I could stand it no longer. I don't understand for the life of me how BMW can put tires on a car that makes it ride like they were made of stone. Every rut, every undulation, & every road imperfection was extremely pronounced within the cabin. The tires were very unforgiving and only exacerbated the blows. Not only that but the noise was at a very high decibel level. Needless to say I did my research and with the help of tirerack.com I decided upon the Bridgestone's. Now I only have 500 miles on them and coming from where I've been with the conti's I'm sure any tire would've been an improvement. But the performance of the Bridgestone's far surpassed my expectations. The first thing that struck me was that I was able to listen to the radio at a much lower volume. Secondly, the tires have a great feel as far as cornering & in heavy rain the other day they performed admirably. I'd recommend these tires in a heartbeat!
