Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS Pole Position
Initial Review: 2,000 miles on tires

Replaced RE960 AS tires with RE970's. 960's were great and had almost 60k mileage at replacement. Overall, the 970's are also great tires. Very satisfied to date. Smooth, quiet, corners well, and excellent in wet weather. Only complaint is that rolling resistance seems higher and gas mileage has declined about 5-10% in highway driving. Not sure if this will improve with increased treadwear, as they currently have only 2k miles on them. Would definitely buy again.

10k Update -- Following the 1st review, began to gradually notice substantial vibration at 65-75 mph. Tires were balanced/rotated twice with no improvement. Finally had them road force balanced, and am now largely vibration free, but still out $100. Also, gas mileage has not improved--they are definitely stickier than the 960's, but this comes with a price--about 10% lower gas mileage.

To summarize, these are really good tires but the issues with vibration and gas mileage would make me reconsider buying again.
