Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position RFT
Initial Review: 100 miles on tires
February 26, 2013

Replaced OEM Bridgestone RFT tires with these. Only had these for a week, so this is just first impressions. I was apprehensive that they would not have as good dry traction as the OEM tires because the OEM tires were summer only tires. I was pleasantly surprised that the traction is nearly identical. Now maybe on a track you can tell the difference. But, they are plenty good for me. They have the added bonus of being more comfortable, quieter, better cold weather traction, and probably much better tread life. I got 32K miles out of the OEM tires which I hear is phenomenal for them. I drive pretty aggressively, so not sure how others get much less on them. The OEM summer tires get very hard and slick when it drops below 50 degrees. So, having an all season tire that gives as much grip when warm and still has grip when cold was important to me. The ride quality is a bit better than the OEM tires, but I was not as big a critic of the OEM tires as a lot of people seem to be. But the OEM tires are more expensive and have cold weather traction issues that these seem to rectify. I had even thought of going with a non run flat tire, but after reading these reviews decided that I would spend the extra bucks for the peace of mind as long as I was going to get around 40K miles out of the tires. So far I am impressed.
