Initial Review, 40,000 Miles on Tires

Tell you what, I'm actually impressed by the wear life. I actually achieved 40,000 miles on this tire. My driving style is just like most BMW drivers, which is, well, Bavarian way. Anyway, let's talk about the tire. The traction is not bad, but so-so when it's wet. It's about average. However, the corning is fantastic because it's run-flat. The sidewall is much thicker than the conventional tires, so it has much better cornering. And this is the only good about this tire.
Cons? Well, a lot. First, the ride is so harsh! I felt like I was driving a M race car with rock suspension. The noise is also just unbelievably awful. The wear life is also pretty short even though mine actually last for 40,000 miles.
I don't really recommend this tire. If you want a good run-flat tire, just go for Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZP. It has much better life spend, better ride quality, better traction, and lower noise level. And yet it is just a little bit more expensive than this one. Just don't get that BMW OE version which is like 400 bucks more. If you want a conventional high performance tire, I recommend Michelin PS2 or Continental DW. If you would like better wear life, go get the all-season performance tire - Continental DWS, which is the one i'm using right now.
