Initial Review, 1,500 Miles on Tires

After wearing out my OEM Michelin PS2s by shearing off a tread block (despite the tires being mostly worn out already), I was looking for something more durable for the track. On the recommendation of someone with an E36 M3, I gave the RE11s a go. I was not disappointed.



On the street, they are a bit more "floaty" than the PS2s, and also a bit noisier. But that's hardly why one gets these tires. On the track (Summit Main) they did their job incredibly well. Despite a few temperature extremes over the weekend, the tires had plenty of grip during every track session. They provided way more grip than I felt the need to call on, so they were very confidence-inspiring to someone with only a few track events under his belt.



I was pleasantly surprised at the treadwear, and was expecting to have chewed through a lot more tire than I did, particularly given the speeds involved on this track. I can't say enough positive things about these tires.
