Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 (H- or V-Speed Rated)
Initial Review: 18,000 miles on tires

Took chance on putting this on the Forester. Probably not the obvious choice but wanted to see how the mileage might be improved. These are exceptionally quiet smooth running tires, I don't think I've had better for this attribute. But, this does come at a reduction in responsiveness in handling, nothing terminal, just a bit floaty feeling compared to the Yokohama Geolanders that came with it. The big bonus is surprisingly improved fuel mileage. Pre Ecopia's the Forester would get about 300 miles per tank, with the Ecopias it was common to get about 380 miles per tank. I confirmed this repeatedly this past summer on numerous trips. Then when I put the winter Michelin X-Ice2's on the mileage returned to around the 260-300 mile range per tank. Yes, I will buy more Ecopia tires, but hope that Bridgestone uses the technology on higher performance tires in the near future.
