Bridgestone Blizzak WS70
Initial Review: 5,000 miles on tires

I bought these for my Volvo Cross Country this winter. Last winter I had traction problems during my weekly trips to Vermont, and rather than going through that again this winter I opted for snow tires. The Blizzaks were highly rated and recommended by friends. These tires are excellent! I drove through about 14 of fresh snow and the car didn't come close to getting stuck. I actually pulled over to help push a new Jeep out of the same snow that I just drove through. A couple days later and after the snow drifted, thawed, and refroze I got a chance to test these on packed snow and ice. They bite hard on ice. Of course there will be some slip, but this was at more than an acceptable amount. In the dry they don't handle quite as well as all seasons, but after a month of driving that was quickly forgotten. In ending it is cheaper to buy a set of snow tires than pay for the tow and damage repair from sliding into a ditch. I would buy these again.
