Initial Review, 10,000 Miles on Tires
I live in upstate New York where conditions can change overnight. I bought these Blizzaks because my car came with high performance summer tires which are useless on ice/snow. I have been using Blizzaks since the late '90's on many of my cars and the one thing that always amazed me was the superb ice traction. We live in a hilly area, and since my first set of Blizzaks turned my wifes BMW 5 series into a snowplow back in 1999 (with 100 lbs. of salt in the trunk), I have been a dedicated fan. I've owned 6 sets of Blizzaks and loved every one. These WS-70's on my awd STi are nothing short of amazing. I have driven through 2 feet of unplowed driveway to get to my home (my driveway is 1/4 mile long) with not a hiccup. Even snow over ice is no problem for these tires. Of course I do not drive in as spirited a manner as I do in the summer, but then again I bought these for safety for myself and my family, not to race at a track. Still I consider the handling to be very good on dry, wet and ice/snow, and I can blow past most any other awd vehicle in wintry conditions with total confience. If I'm a bit long-winded here, it's because these tires deserve every accolade they have earned. Will definitely keep buying Blizzaks.
