I absolutely LOVE these tires when the weather is bad.
PROS: Excellent hydroplaning resistance, they chew right through snow and slush, as confident as can be expected on icy roads. They do exactly what they are designed to do, keep you out of the ditches when the roads are nasty. Great Winter Tire!
CONS: They are a WINTER tire, they work great in bad weather. On dry, clear roads, they feel 'mushy'. My best description is that they feel like summer tires that are 5-10 psi low on air. Do not run these tires all year! Do not expect them to last more than 3 winer seasons.
In my opinion, the pros WAY outweigh the cons. In Ohio, I run my Blizzaks from Thanksgiving to mid March. I don't believe in 'all-season' tires. No tire can excell in all driving conditions. A tire works great on dry or damp roads will only be average in snow. A tire that will last 60,000 miles is too hard to work on ice. If my winter tires keep me out of a ditch only one time or avoid one accident, then it is money well spent. Buy summer tires that match your driving style in the summer, and buy winter tires for the winter.
