Bridgestone Blizzak WS70
Initial Review: 650 miles on tires
January 09, 2014

Needing to make a trip from South Bend IN to Atlanta, and faced with the recent polar vortex and 12+ inches of snow (as well as the usual South Bend winters with lake effect snow) I purchased a set of these tires a couple days before I left. I don't have enough superlatives for these tires. The highway from South Bend to south of Indy was totally snow packed. The right lane had frozen ice often resembling an unmaintained dirt road (ruts, ridges, washboard, etc). Average speed for everyone was 40-45 mph. The ONLY time I felt uncomfortable was when I had to move over to the right lane because some a-hole was zooming along and needed to pass. The tires might get caught in one of those ice ruts, and where the ruts went was where the tires/car went! but that's not the fault of the tires. Once on dry road, I was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable and quiet ride...the quiet especially. Absolutely worth every penny.....but it doesn't give one an excuse to drive like a maniac. AS long as one drives prudently, these tires exceed expectations.
