Initial Review, 2,796 Miles on Tires
This is a follow up on my 2 previous reviews on the Bridgestone DM-V1 tyres mounted on my Lexus RX350 F Sport (2013). I have now completed about 4500km = 2796.17 miles, on these tyres here in Calgary. My wife and daughter drove from Calgary to Edmonton (276.93Kms = 172.08 miles) this weekend on the Queen Elizabeth 2 highway with no problems on the motorway, as it was clear. However, while she was up in Edmonton the night time temperatures dropped down to minus 28 degrees Celsius = minus 18.4 degrees Fahrenheit and she drove with no issues at all. The Bridgestone DM-V1 tyres stuck to the road like Velcro, even though there was black ice and snow. She did not even have to engage the 4 wheel drive mode, snow mode (ECT) or even lock mode. The vehicle simply drove, as if it was in the summer. When she returned back down to Calgary from Edmonton on Queen Elizabeth 2 highway, she saw many cars which were abandoned in the ditch, simply because of the amount of ice and sleet from the night before, which had then refroze again. I must say, both my Wife and I have 100% confidence in these tyres, bearing in mind that I have 25 years of driving experience, both here in Canada and the United States, as well as, throughout Europe and my wife has over 22 years driving experience here in Canada, therefore an overall combined 47 years. I again reiterate, that the Bridgestone DM-V1 tyres are best winter tyres that we have had throughout our driving experience, as they simply do the job of gripping, accelerating with no slipping or sliding and more importantly stopping. Well done Bridgestone for manufacturing such a great winter tyre.
