Initial Review, 250 Miles on Tires Tried a set of the BFG R1S at the SCCA Runoffs last year. The S compound offers quicker warmup and stick than the standard R1 model. Breakaway in the dry is progressive with good feedback from my Nissan. So far, multiple heat cycles in cool weather has shown surprising durability.
