Follow-Up Review: 800 miles on tires
December 24, 2011
After driving in the recent rain storm these tires left me with not much confidence, I was slipping all over. Maybe because the car has so much power but I don't think that's really the whole story. Today I put some sand bags in the trunk; 120lbs worth and you wouldn't believe the improvement, it finally feels like I'm planted on the road now, I can't do a...

When I bought my 3500 dual rear wheel truck new it had Mitchelin tires that I got 55K out of and I pull a 34 ft RV, and now I have 45K out of the Firestones and I have at least 10K left but I am giving them to my son for his work trailer   Read More

Follow-Up Review: 33,000 miles on tires
December 03, 2011
I had to replaced these after 33,000 mi but it was not totally the fault of the tire although they had only 5/32 left. Our 300M needed a 4 wheel alignment and neither our dealer (despite regular 6000 mi rotations and rebalancings) or I caught this in time so the tires all badly scalped on one side. Since I never go beyond 4/32 and winter was approaching I...

So far I have about 1,000 miles on these tires and they handle great. The ride is very smooth and quiet. This month I drove through heavy rain and the Northeast Halloween Blizzard (7 inches of wet snow) and did not slide at all. As far as tread wear goes, I think I will rotate these every 3,000 miles since I do a lot of city driving and the front tires seems...  Read More

Very pleased with my set of tires. I now have 13,000 miles on it. Installed it last season. Living in Toronto, I do keep a seperate set of winter tires (Also General - Altimax Arctic ). I read a lot of reviews on this site before purchasing this set of tires. I am impressed with the lack of road noise and cornering stability of this tire. Even though as some...  Read More

No serious problems while driving, but could not get traction on grass. Noisy, slippy on ice and light snow, thankfully not used in heavy snow. Very disappointed with tread ware, did not even get 40K (60K warranty) before worn out (2/32) with regular maintenance & rotations. Will not purchase again.   Read More

Just bought a set of these tires. Very smooth, good riding tires, great on cornering. I would suggest these tire for any one looking for a great set of tires for a reasonable price. And as usual Tire Rack services was superb. Tires got here 2 days early. As I put more mileage on then I will keep you posted.   Read More

This tire is the absolute best for city and off-road use. I drive in the city everyday, but go off roading every weekend. My jeep is 2wd but with these tires it makes me believe it is 4wd. Ive been most places that my friends 4wd vehicles have gone, without a problem. Some people on these reviews say they are noisy but I experience no noise problems....  Read More

These tires were bought to replace a full set on my STS-V. First of all the tires on the car were runflats, hard noisy tires as this car does not have a spare. The car also comes staggered 18 wheel up front 19 out back so that in its own creates a lot of fun tire shopping. I went back and forth for a full month these, pirelli, BFG's and so on. Im so glad I...  Read More

Here is my honest review. After owning these tires for a couple of years and testing them in all conditions i can honestly say they are an at best average tire. For dry weather there is nothing better.I have a hard time spinning them with 300hp when its warm out,but when the temp drops to the 40's and you add water watch out!I have 4wd its still a challenge.As...  Read More

As I mentioned, I took these off at 40,500 in November 2010 and ended up putting on 185/60R15 Firestone Winterforce tires (I did not stud them), which ROCK for winter driving BTW--felt like my little car was an SUV. Deep snow NOT a problem!Anyhow, back to the RE92's. I kept the winter tires on most of the spring and summer--way too long. Anyhow, the RE92's...

This is the second set of Altimax Artic's I have purchased for my daugher's car while away at college. 1st set was on a Ford Focus. Current set is on a Honda Civic. Excellent tire in snow. Comfortable and stable on the dry pavement. I would not have purchased 2nd set if I did not have confidence in this tire. This is a quality snow tire that gives overall...  Read More

Have had these tires on for longer time and more miles than previous two sets of tires. Original equipment tires were Goodyear and I didn't care for them enough to pay the price for them again.Next set was Avon.Ok tires but rode rough and didn't seem to wear well.Kumho's are three years old and ready to be replaced.I just can't bring myself to spend more...  Read More

I have only had these tires for about two months, and I can say that they perform very well in winter conditions. Although Colorado has not received as much snow as years past, when ice and snow are around they are great. They are the next best thing to studded tires, which I was NOT about to put on the Porsche. Being a powerful car, these tires have never...  Read More

Just installed these Kumho Ecsta 4Xs for winter, swapping out a nice set of Sumitomo summer tires. The Sumitomos are great looking and handle well in rain, but these Kumhos do a better job in dry, heavy rain, and hard stops. Plus, they are much quieter and have a much softer feel. The only compromise is looks, and it is unrealistic for an all-season to look...  Read More

I replaced a set of Dunlop Grispeck snow tires with these recently in prep for the winter. I have to say that I've been quite pleased with the ride comfort and especially noise. Handling is also much better than I had expected as well, with minimal tread squirm .. really great for a snow tire! The breakaway and recovery is very smooth too, even in the wet....  Read More

These replaced OEM ContiSportContacts after about 30k miles of use. Excellent grip on dry and wet. Rubber gets very hard in temps below freezing but they do warn you about that so can't fault them for that. Have had these on the car for 2 summers now and they are quiet, responsive, and give great feedback. Only issue I have that will make me look for...  Read More

5K on the tires and we're very pleased. Tire noise is low, responsiveness is great, plus the lower price is a big plus over comparable tires. We bought these Continentals with a bit of risk after buying several sets of $800-$900 tires and are very satisfied. OK, one downside is the slight flat-spotting in the cooler temps but they recover quickly within a...  Read More
