Many new SUVs and CUVs are coming equipped with hard-to-find tire sizes. Therefore, when the time comes for replacements, there are often few options to choose from. In almost every case, we work hard to stock these unique Original Equipment sizes (like the 19" and 20" options for the GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave). If you're looking for alternative tires, we can often recommend different sizes to provide you more options for your vehicle.

A few examples include:

  • Current generation Toyota Highlanders use a 245/55R19 tire size, but we can guarantee the slightly wider 255/55R19 to work on your Original Equipment wheels.
  • The Dodge Journey uses a unique 225/55R19 tire size, and as an alternative, we can guarantee you can use 235/55R19 tires.  
  • The MINI Cooper Clubman comes with a 205/55R17 run-flat tire that can be tough to get. For a better selection in both run-flat and non-run-flat configurations, the 225/50R17 size is a great option.

I drive a 2011 Rav4 all wheel/4wheel drive compact SUV. I had 2 year old all season tires that failed terribly in even the smallest of snowfalls. So after a lot of research I chose these and I am so happy I did. Where I had trouble before, now I don’t. Slush to me is worse than ice, and now it’s no problem, along with deep snow. It just snowed here 12” and I drove through it to see if I could loose traction, I even zig zaged and didn’t. Where I had trouble getting out of snow covered side streets without spinning out, with my blizzak dm v-1’s I pull out into on-coming traffic with no trouble at all. I have a ¾ mile steep up hill I take to go to work and covered with snow I had no problem going up it at all. The first thing in spring I plan to replace them for {Bridgestone Dueler H/L 422 Ecopia (Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season)}

Owned the WS60 on a honda accord 2000 and I felt like I was driving a 4X4. I would drive the accord over the suv I owned. Now I have upgraded to a Honda accord 2013 and the WS70 tire is horrible. One of biggest mistakes I have made. This tire is useless in light snow or snow in general. I am an average driver and care more about getting to my destination safely then speeding and wiping out. However this tire leaves me feeling like my car is ice skating on light snow. Drove it in deep snow and thought I would need a tow truck to get up a small hill. All the great things you have heard about Blizzak have gone out the window with these new tires. DO NOT BUY or even think twice about buying these tires unless you want to total your car. Then by all means buy them and start car shopping. I bought these tires for this season and am ready to throw them out.

Will go ahead and post my initial impressions:

These Contis immediately improved the overall ride over my previous tires (Uniroyal Tiger Paws). I've only had them on a few months but have been able to go through the paces through Idaho winter. Really really impressed with snow and hard packed ice road traction. Very confident in wet or dry handling.

Fairly quiet and smoothes out the RAV as best they can ;) I'm thinking this is an excellent choice for a small SUV doing mostly paved road driving. Will update again when I get some decent mileage.

I have tried many different tires on many different cars and SUV's over the last 3 decades, never have I come across such a well rounded tire that does EVERYTHING so well. If I am to nit pick, these are just slightly noisier on some roads and do not corner as well as BFG's do, but I'll trade that any day for what I gained. Snow and Ice traction is superb. Dry and wet traction is excellent. Cost is right on. So, I will not bother to trying any more brands on this car, one just cant beat these for all around, all season use. VERY IMPRESSIVE.

I purchased these tires for my mother’s car mostly with winter weather driving being my main concern, as I tend to use it for commuting to work in snowy bad weather. This car, with the right tires, is a TANK in the snow. It’ll go and stop in anything! After prior bad experience with Good Year tires, I knew I wanted a quality tire from Pirelli or Michelin, so after a lot of research on TR I settled on these tires and was delighted to get a rebate at the time. As for the tires, they’re great. I just had this car in some serious snow storms here in NJ this winter and I commute to Morristown through the Great Swamp, which has tight turns with no shoulder and steep hills and the tires performed great. The one snow day it took me 1.5 hrs to go less than 2 miles in the severely unprepared roads and saw at least 10 accidents, with SUVs hitting snow ploughs, cars in ditches, 5 cars daisy chain crashed together, mult wrecked cars on flat beds going past me, SUVs just sliding down hills with the wheels turned full lock, and tractor trailers just parked on main roads, yet this car with these tires just kept on going with no drama. When you experience driving like this, you take your tires very serious. I plan on getting rid of the worn out POS Good Year Integrity tires on my father’s other Buick with these very same tires. They’re that good, the price isn’t too bad, they ride nice, and the mileage life is high. When it comes to tires, it’s your life, your insurance rates, and the headache of a car accident. Don’t get cheap!

Recently purchased these tires to replace the factory Michelen tires. I have noticed an immediate reduction in road noise with these tires, and the comfort over pot marked roads has been a great improvement. Today, in Columbus Ohio (2-5-14) we received 6" of snow with a layer of ice over top of it over night. The tires handled it with an amazing amount of ease. Almost zero wheel spin while driving back roads over ice covered roads from the plows, as well as areas the plow missed and my car became the plow. Highway driving over somewhat plowed roads meant lane changes over slush, ice and snow at 30 - 40 mph and I had no issues. Was passing SUV after SUV this morning. Only incident I have had was I hit a rather large pot hole and blew the tire out. I do not think that the tire itself had anything to do with it, as much as it was in regards to the road conditions and the tire size is a low profile tire and they just can't handle impact like that. I would recommend this tire to anyone. I have had Goodyears, Michelen's , etc before and this has been my most remarkable tire to date.

Had to replace the OEM Michelin Primacy MXV4 at 17k miles. Love these Firestones.

Only 200 miles, but we've already had dry and wet roads, light snow, slush, deep powdery snow and ice. This tire is a beast. Only condition I haven't experienced yet is heavy rain at highway speeds. I'm hopeful that wear holds up well.

Ride comfort and ride noise is outstanding, and really surprising given the performance. Best tire on any SUV I've had in the past 13 years.

I only have a short time on the tires. I planned on driving the Expedition 1000mi a year but it might be more now that I've driven it a bit.

I used the vehicle during a pretty bad snow storm, rain, and of course in dry conditions. I also got to drive the OEM tires on the Expedition before this one. I also got to drive a similar year Explorer with all season tires in the snow back to back with the Expedition (same 1/4 mile in snow/sleet-then-frozen road conditions).

For winter use in the Explorer with all seasons (OEM tires) not only did the Explorer not respond well to any steering or braking input but on our very steep driveway the Explorer slid off the pavement and into the grass/deep-snow. I also had a hard time keeping the Explorer from sliding to the right due to the crown of the road (base layer of frozen sleet covered with hard pack snow, plus it was snowing). I was switching vehicles so I parked the Explorer and drove back the Expedition. Absolutely no problems accelerating, stopping (I did a brake check). I also went up and down our driveway to see if I'd have the same situation sliding down the driveway since the next morning I'd have my family in the Expedition. Not only did I have total control (this is literally 5 minutes later) but I could actually stop directly on the steep part of the driveway.

I also forgot to put it in the auto 4WD mode because I forgot - I drove it in 2WD (aka RWD) without any problems early the next morning.

The tires are also much quieter than the (not sure of age) OEM tires, respond significantly better on the few exit ramps I've taken, and are noticeably more comfortable. I'm very happy with the tires and would get them again.

Note: This is my first SUV so although I enjoy driving it's been interesting learning how a larger SUV drives/handles. Previously I've owned a large van along with regular compact cars, but I'm not used to the slower response of the large SUV.

I've never really been a fan of the asymmetrical tread designs, so was a bit nervous about getting these tires. I have tried many tires on my Mercedes R350 and these Firestones are at least as good as the Michelin Latitude Tour HP and better than the Continental 4X4 Contact. The ride they give is very solid but smooth. Handling is excellent, given the large size of the car. Best of all, these Firestones are FAR less expensive than Michelins or Conitnentals. If you have a luxury crossover SUV don't hesitate to try these tires.

My car eats tires in 30,000 miles (been through Conti, Michelin and Pirellis). I'll report back about how these wear over time.

We purchased this set of tires based upon the TireRack reviews from our local Firestone dealer. We have been very happy with the choice. The tires handle well, and the raised white outside lettering look aggressive, but not conservatively so, on the family SUV hauler. The handling has been very good, and the tires still look and feel as if they have not worn at all, even though the tires have more than 30000 miles on them. We would recommend these tires outright.

We live in the upper Midwest and drive a large SUV. I bought these Continentals some weeks ago and now have a few thousand miles on them. The overall traction/performance is excellent and exceptional in snow, even fairly heavy snow, as well as in wet conditions. We also find the performance exceptional regarding road noise; these are the quietest tires I've owned, exceeding the Michelin Latitude Tours I recently purchased for my daughter's SUV. My only caution to a prospective buyer would be the ride comfort. These are high performance tires, higher than some people would want, and you do feel road imperfections more than on other tires. Too early to comment on tread wear.

After a harrowing trip down the icy freeway with my stock tires on my 500 I bought the bullet and ordered a set of these tires and a set of wheels from tire rack. The difference is amazing. I installed the new mounted wheels in a neighbors garage. had to take 4 runs at his driveway to get in the garage. put the wheels on, pulled back in the street and walked right up the driveway with no issues. No more spinning out at icy intersections or wallowing all over the road in the snow. I have never had winter tires before but I will always have them now. The price I paid is a lot less than the cost of a beat up suv that I was thinking of buying just to get around in the winter. Also the service at Tire rack was top notch. Everything I needed was included including new bolts and a spacer ring for each wheel that I didnt know that I needed.

The Dunlop SP Sport Signatures are really a mixed bag of features. The dry traction and response to inputs are really good for a tire meant for an SUV. In the dry its not easy to get the tires to spin, even when taking a turn WAY to fast for passenger comfort. Wet traction and hyrdoplaning resistance are good but not as great as they could be. In the wet the tires find grip and struggle to sometimes, esp in heavy downpours. The ride comfort is also fairly mixed; it absorbs bumps fairly well but once the tires start wearing they certainly get nosier. I'm at about 1/2 tread life and the tires are pretty noisy, noisy to the point where sometimes it's difficult to have a conversation depending on the road surface and speed. Would I buy them again, probably not because of the excessive noise from them.
