I've seen a decent amount of snow in milwaukee this year and these tires are just outstanding. With the power of the STI I have broken them loose but they were still gripping the entire time, and the wheel spin was due to the amount of salt the city is dumping this year. I thought they might be a little squishy in a hard cornering situation but wow was I wrong, stiff and responsive through hard braking and acceleration. Deep snow traction is well above average for a long lasting all-season tire like these, if your not sure if this is the tire for you in a snowy type environment then go buy snow tires and waste your money every winter replacing them. I do plan on taking these to the track in spring, will update on that when the time comes. The big thing about these tires are the price, for $600 I'll gladly buy these again considering what was on the car when I bought it from the dealership...245/40R18 Dunlop SP Sport 600 which run about $220 a piece if I'm not mistaken and only last for 20000 miles.

These tires are well suited for day to day driving. Not a tire for track events but a great tire that makes you feel safe in virtually all road conditions ... Excluding snow of course.
I have found that traction is very predictable and only at the very extremes of the vehicles abilities will this tire break traction.
I will most likely put these on my daughters accord as well since we both have dedicated snow tires as well.

So I ran this tire this last winter up here in Juneau, AK. When I bought my car it came with summer performance tires that they would not switch out at the dealership for an all season tire. So when I got these put on it was a night and day difference! I was glued to the ice, snow, and slush! They where great no matter the road conditions. The sidewalls where a little soft in cornering but they are winter tires not summer street tires so I can't really complain there. These tires are loud due to all the siping they have on the tread blocks. They also pick up every piece of gravel on the road. But if you are looking for a performance studless winter tire these are the tire for you. Just remember not to run them year road. They need to be switched during the warmer summer months.

I live near Philly and we just had multiple days of heavy rain. This tire does very well in the rain and dry. Wet freeway off ramps can be driven virtually at dry condition speeds. Panic stops in the rain at aprox 45mph barely triggered the ABS (in vacant parking lot). I have not driven in snow yet but will update when I do. As most others are reporting, the side walls on this tire are soft and changing directions abruptly feels very mushy. I do not autocross and this tire so far is perfect for my needs.

Unless you always drive in warm summer conditions this is the tire for you. Essentially comparable to the Michelin PS 2 but with cold weather bare road traction matching a winter tire down to freezing point (wet or dry). Have not tried them in snow or on ice yet but the previous A/S + I run as a summer tire on my SAAB are excellent in snow or on ice around freezing temperatures and this tire is rated more highly by Michelin themselves for cold weather performance. These are no longer "no season" tires. I now fit all season tires to all of our cars for our summer driving conditions and use full winters for our extreme winter conditions. I drive in mountainous western Canada and summertime daytime temperatures can often be as low as 5C (40F). Until the road gets above about 7C (45F) ultra high performance summer tires do not get warm enough to really perform. These new all season tires get warm enough to perform properly on roads that are at freezing temperatures. Truly amazing tires.

With only 250 miles on these tires, I've already experienced very wet road conditions with excellent results at both highway and city street speeds and conditions.
Dry road handling is excellent. I am able to maneuver our many pot holes with extreme confidence. Years of autocross experience also helps.
I missed the snow season so can't comment at this time.
I went from an all season Goodyear Assurance triple tread with 85,000 on them (another tire that I rated almost as high as the Pirelli) then through the winter with Cooper snow tires, to the Pirelli Cinturato P7 Grand Touring.
The first major difference was the tire noise and gas mileage. These are the quitest tires I've ever had on my car. My gas milage avg is 25 mpg. This is 3 mpg better than the Goodyear and 7 mpg (to be expected) than the Cooper snows.
As with my Goodyear tires, I expect to get at least 80,000 miles out of them. Maintenance is the key to a long tire lifeand I perfome this religiously.
One othe note, They also look good on my Outback wagon.

Replaced a set worn out Michelins that were very noisy. Based on reviews I steered away from Michelins and bought the Pirelli's. It was a good decision. These tires are the quietest I've had on the car, the best tracking, and the smoothest riding. I didn't notice any change in gas mileage. The Pirelli tires are a good value for the money.

This tire is great for winter traction. I ordered these with studs and couldn't be happier with their performance. Anchorage winters put us through warming periods when it will go from 15 degrees to over 40 and start to rain. These tires move through the water on ice road conditions with no problems while passing other cars with all season tires in the ditch or trying to gain traction at stop lights. Noisy ride to be expected with studded tires but safety for my family is more important to me than the noise. I just turn up the radio. You can't go wrong with these.

I use these tires for track day events only and they have been great. Although not the stickiest tire out there, they are pretty darn good. The price point, and good wear qualities makes them a great choice for tearing up the track with out emptying your pocket book.

This is a great tire, but not great for this car and my driving style. I sized this -1 (factory OEM is 17"), and in doing so created the majority of my "gripes" I have with this tire. The size I bought it in has been discontinued.

I have been using snows for the past 20 years, and I've tried Blizzaks, Generals, Firestones, Goodyears, Dunlops. I average around 7K a year driving in the winter on snows.

Good: The tire is an exceptional snow tire. Period. Snow to this tire is a traction additive. Deep snow, slush, light snow - not a problem. The tire hangs on very well when set on a singular course in the dry. Reasonably quiet. Stable under braking.

Bad: If you're a normal driver (commuter), *obey* the speed limit, etc. 95% of the bad won't apply to you. Because it is an exceptional snow tire, it leaves a lot to be desired in the dry. This tire is heavily siped so the tread-blocks are squishy. Full throttle acceleration isn't advised.

The web is full of comments of people complaining about the soft sidewalls, which I didn't heed. The sidewalls are *soft* and as a result I feel the tire compress over bumps before the car does. Somewhat unsettling if your car is stiffly sprung like the WRX is as you feel it "pogo" over transitions. Should you need to do a quick transition at highway speeds it is a sphincter clinching event. Just plan on hitting whatever you're trying to avoid if you're doing anything over 40 - the tires are easily overwhelmed.

Conclusion:

- A GREAT SNOW TIRE
- Very soft sidewalls - not intended for "sportier" or "firmly damped" cars.
- Surprisingly good tread wear - I wore off less than 2/32nds in 6711 miles of driving.
- These are not Blizzaks - on ice you're pretty much on your own unless you get studs. Given the price, I wasn't expecting them to match a Blizzak's performance.

I live at 7,000 feet in Colorado on a dirt road (and 100 yd gravel driveway.) We've just been through one of the most extreme winters in decades, with -27 temps and plenty of snow. My wife (a nature photographer) and I also drive extensively around the USA, often in bad weather and to... unusual :) destinations.

These tires have been incredibly wonderful, restoring the sense of rock-solid reliability on any road surface or weather conditions that I used to get in our old Subaru Impreza. I did notice a small MPG hit compared to the OEM tires, perhaps 2mpg, but that's a price I am willing to pay.

Now after 35k miles, I am sensing the tires will not come close to the 80k mile warranty. That would be sad, but I'm not willing to give up the performance for more mileage. I'd rather be able to drive safely and avoid sliding into a ditch or another vehicle :)

I've had these tires on my 2013 WRX Hatch for the last 500 miles and they've already seen all 4 seasons being that I live in New York. Although they're meant to be summer tires they've exceeded my expectations in the cold and wet. Not once have I felt like I'm not in control of the car wet or dry. I mostly use my car to commute approx. 40 miles highway round-trip and the road noise is minimal. On the weekends I definitely do some spirited driving around the local twisties and these tires keep me confident in the corners.

Overall, great traction in wet, dry, cold conditions, almost no road noise, and the steering response is pretty spot on. I'd definitely recommend these tires.

These tires had a better treadlife for being strictly a summer tire. I have had all season tires not last as long. However these tires are prone to cupping. The wet traction was sub par. I dont know how the manufacturer even can say that they evacuate water well. If it rains stay home! These tires will not be good for you nor comfortable even in the lightest rain. This website wont let me rate the tires on sand so I will do it here. I drove on the beach and they are very very good on sand. Believe it or not for sand driving you want a mostly bald tire. I only had 3000 miles on them at the time and they held up very well and even on dirt. Never got the chance to take it in the mud. But judging my the tread pattern I wouldnt want to have them on mud or rock. I may buy this tire again, but not at the price thats being asked for them. Especially when they are not even a runflat and have such poor wet traction. Going to try Michellin or Continental next.

Huge difference in ride, noise level, responsiveness,over the OEM Bridgestone Turanza EL400-02 Standard Touring All-Season tires that came with my 2012 Subaru Legacy. My work commute of 18 miles covers city,(5mi)Interstate I-95,(8mi) winding country back roads(5mi)
These tires are rated for 70k, i`ll dance in the streets if i get 45-50k.
So far with only 1800 miles on my car (got it with 14 miles last month) combined driving 24.7-26.1Mpg Hwy 29.03Mpg @70-73speed
The VR rated Conti tire vs the HR rated Conti tire gets better wet traction according to a leading consumer magazine and its only 2.00 more!! per tire
The only negative: the set of tires the store got were made in Mexico not USA as i thought they would of been.

I installed these tires when I bought the car used and have had nothing but positive results. In the winter, these tires perform well in the snow. My AWD Subaru has no issues maintaining traction in all conditions. Driving in the rain is not any different than dry pavement. The previous reviews regarding low traction in snow and rain don't match my experience.

My third set of Kumhos, I always was "satisfied" with these tires, not the best in class but always an excellent value (KU-27's and ASX's prior). SO far I have to say I am VERY impressed with ride quality, low tread noise and excellent wet traction. They balanced perfectly, NO shimmy all the way to 90 mph, I mean not a trace! Well see about winter traction, I suspect they will be good. My car is AWD and last season the KU-27's got me through almost three feet of snow at half tread depth....no easily mind you but three feet of snow is not a cake walk for any car. Will

Purchased four of these tires for an old 1995 Subaru Impreza L AWD daily driver. My main concerns for new tires was superior snow/ice handling, acceptable/above average wet handling, and above average dry traction with a great tread-life while keeping prices low. After I did extensive research and comparison charts I purchased the Firestone Precision Touring tires right as winter was in full force.

*In the snow/ice, the tires handle extremely well. I was driving around plow trucks with ease and mated with the AWD, was truly unstoppable this winter. Once the snow hit a few inches, the tires still gripped and when they did give way to sliding, were extremely predictable, allowing me to counter-steer with ease.
*Wet handling is acceptable, though not the greatest, but is not a reason to dismiss the tire, as it is still very predictable in those hazards.
*Dry traction and responsiveness are perfect with the only downside to cornering stability, which I believe is the weakest point of the tires. It can feel as if the tire would give way or takes a second to find the road when cornering. Despite this harsh review; it is actually on par with other tires for dry cornering in this price range.
*As to tread-wear, I cannot speak as to the performance of the category since I have not had the tires long enough.
*The comfort level is great. The tires take harsh bumps without any real complaints; in fact, I believe that I could have potentially bent a rim in lieu of popping a tire, of course due to the enormous potholes that plagued PA and DE (the Northeast Snow Belt area) this winter.
*Price - $77.00 a tire, which didn't break the bank for an old car but was well worth it.

Overall, I was looking for some affordable tires that would give me the best points of all-season tires, with increased winter time performance. The Firestone's came through and I will definitely purchase again, pending the outcome of the tread-wear. I would highly recommend them.

The Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus tire is much better than the Potenza RE92A OE tire, and worthy of an early switch. The difference is night and day. I have a 2013 Subaru Legacy that I really like, but over the course of 32,000 miles I grew accustomed to feeling a rigid almost jolting ride as well as all the road imperfections Texas has to offer. The vehicle has now been transformed. I noticed an immediate improvement in braking, highway performance, steering response, quietness, acceleration, and even driving over speed bumps. My mileage also went up by about 1 MPG, and every little bit helps. I currently have almost 3,000 miles on the set and highly recommend. They seem to be wearing exceptionally well. I chose these over the Michelins due to other customer ratings, and the overall cost/value. I will also say that the car can easily accommodate a larger size if you want to fill up the wheel wells and gain a little more ground clearance; I opted for the 235/50R17. As grand touring all season tires they have nice curb appeal as well -dressing up the vehicle.

I've finished my third winter with these tires on my Subaru wagon... and this was the worst winter in years here in eastern PA. (I know, that's still not saying much).

On snow days I casually passed everyone else here creeping along with inadequate tires. The feeling of confidence and control with these tires was priceless.

Tread life is acceptable for winter tires.

Initial Review, 5,000 Miles on Tires

These tire are very, very good in snow. Since I am currently using them in the winter I am not at all concerned about road noise, etc. However, I do have to say that, for noise, handling, etc., these tires are fine and are no worse than an average all season tire. I live on top of a hill and I have to drive through heavy snow and at times, ice. these tires are very good and provide an exceptional level of confidence when driving in these difficult conditions. As for mileage, I am not certain since I will (hopefully) be able to switch them out with my all season tires in May. At the rate this winter is going I am not certain that will happen (perhaps June?!). regardless, yes, I am confident in these tires and would not hesitate to purchase these tire again.
