Update on the BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2

Tuesday, July 3, 2012 by Steve Huffman

A few weeks ago, I wrote about the features and benefits of the BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2. After getting the opportunity to test the tire, I wanted to express my thoughts on the tire. Please note that this is my personal opinion and our test results will be published soon.

When driving on our test track it was covered in several inches of water. Since this tire has an aggressive, directional tread design, as well as a silica-infused tread compound, I found it to have the best wet grip versus the other tires in the test. The new g-Control sidewall inserts were easily detectable by the impressive steering response and lateral stability.

Prior to driving on the track, we drove on our 6.6-mile loop of expressway, state highway and county roads so we could encounter a great variety of road conditions. This tire seemed to have the quietest ride when it came to impact over the expansion joints. It also had the least amount of tread noise while rolling down the highway. Cornering and steering input were also the best in the group in my opinion.

Overall, I would have to say this is an impressive Ultra High Performance Summer tire. Most drivers will find this tire to be a great value while boosting their confidence in driving.
