The popular 2008 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan are probably due for new tires. In 2008, most of these vans were originally equipped with either the 16" Yokohama AVID S33 or the 17" Bridgestone Turanza EL400-02. These tires suffer from the same symptoms as most O.E .tires. They just don't offer very good traction and they wear out very quickly. I feel there are better tires to consider when its time to replace them.
A few of my favorites for this van include the 16" General AltiMAX HP or Michelin Primacy MXV4. If you have the 17" size I would suggest either the Michelin Latitude Tour or the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza.
Each of these tires have excellent all-season traction, are very smooth and quiet and should last much longer than the O.E. models.

Assuming this is on the stock 16 x 7 inch wheel, the largest size you can use is a 235/60-17
In response to your question, the biggest size you could use is 235-60-17. But the best size for winter would be the stock size. The best winter tire in that size is the Bridgestone Blizzak WS-70.
