C6 Corvette Tires

A few weeks ago, I wrote about tires for a Corvette C5. Today I will talk about tires for a Corvette C6 since they require different sizes. As I write this, the OEM Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-2 EMT is on back order and many customers are looking for alternatives. Let’s take a look.

The first decision to make is whether or not to stay with run-flat tires. If you stay with RFTs, I would suggest the following two tires.

For the absolute best performance on the street, I would suggest the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZP since this is the tire Chevrolet is now equipping on the new Corvette ZR1. The other tire I would suggest is the Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval RFT. These tires are a great alternative to the Goodyear. They match performance at a more attractive price.

For the customer thinking about a non-run-flat tire, there are several great choices. However, I'm going to recommend that you take a long, hard look at the new Continental ExtremeContact DW. We've tested this tire and have found that it holds its own against the best and is a very good value.

Question: does Goodyear plan on releasing G:2 tires in base Corvette sizes in the near future? Thanks, PJ
