A Green Machine: the Michelin Energy Saver A/S and the 2011 Mustang

Saturday, July 17, 2010 by Steve Huffman
Ford has completely reinvented the Mustang for the 2011 V6 model. It is the first vehicle of its kind to achieve 300+ horsepower AND over 30 mpg. New cars are continually getting more and more fuel efficient; it’s not just for compact cars anymore.

Besides a new, lightweight engine and a lower gear ratio, Ford decided to equip many models with the low rolling resistant Michelin Energy Saver A/S tire.

The Michelin Energy Saver A/S can enhance vehicle operating efficiency and environmental impact by reducing fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. It features Michelin’s Energy Saver Construction combined with a unique silica-based tread rubber that helps improve engine fuel efficiency by keeping the tires cooler.

It's nice to see Ford and Michelin working together to bring the best combination of fuel efficiency to an American icon.
