I bought these tires over a month ago dead winter. In snow the traction is not the best but did exceed my expectations. unlike the other reviews, the tires provide a reasonable traction for their type much better than the previous ones I had. In Dry conditions, no comment, everything is very very good. I will definitely purchase another pair when the time comes. Plus you can't beat the price...

I got these tires installed on my 2008 scion tc just a couple days ago so although I cant comment on all performance categories I will do my best now and update in the future.

These tires are fantastic so far. Low road noise if any and very smooth ride. Good Handling..

Before I had these installed I had yokohama tires on the rear which came with the car when i bought it and lasted me about 50,000 miles and still had some meat on them(but are now discontinued) and in the front I had crappy kuhmos which had treadwear that went faster then I can blink. Anyways I was hearing some noise coming from the front end after hitting a pot hole and decided to change all the tires since nobody can tell me where the noise was coming from. Luckily it was the just my old tires and nothing more serious. Now with this new set of hankooks I feel like I am driving on the clouds. Very happy so far and will buy in the future.

I had these on my 2013 scion fr-s and liked them so well that I installed them on my 2014 Subaru Legacy. I feel nearly invincible in the snow and ice with these tires on my Subaru. In the recent snow storm they performed very well in in ice, snow and slush. They also drive very well on dry roads. I highly recommend these tires.

Flew from Dallas to Denver on Sunday to pick this 2013 Scion XB, car was used with only 3400 miles on it. Drove from Denver to OKC Monday afternoon/night, perfect weather and dry roads all the way. About 20 miles east of Denver on I-70 started hearing a strange sound, thought for a minute or so that a wheel bearing was talking to me, after a few miles the pavement changed and the noise vanished. This noise came and went all the way to Dallas based on the pavement surface, I have never heard a tire talk this much or at this DB level. Just ordered new Continental PureContact W/Ecoplus to solve the problem, have them on my wifes car and they are great.

By far the best winter tire I've ever used. I currently have a set on both our Scion xB and Focus Wagon. Phenomenal traction in all snow and slush conditions. A better value and better tire than the set of Blizzaks we used to run. They were a good tire. These are EXCELLENT tires. Don't let the lower price fool you.

Soft compounds equals awesome traction. It also equals short tread life.
These tires are great in dry and in wet. The S-Drives definitely inspire confidence in all weather and around every corner. We absolutely love these tires.

Just be prepared to replace these at 20000 to 25000 miles or so if you drive like me.

After reading online about another Scion XD owner getting the Pirelli P7 Plus in 215/55/16 I decided to try them out. WOW! What an incredibly smooth, and well handling tire. My little Scion no longer feels bouncy, or harsh over bad roads. I glide down the road with precision steering control. A much appreciated change in my cars handling, and ride comfort. And, I too, really like the look of the 215/55 w/Motegi wheels on my XD.

Can't Find Tires for Your Scion xD? Expand your Choices with the 205/55R16 Alternative Size

Thursday, April 11, 2013 by Cy Chowattukunnel

In the Scion family, the FR-S gets the most buzz, the xB evokes the most polarizing opinions, the iQ draws the most attention and the tC typically sells the best. The Scion xD gets overlooked as it provides practicality, dependability and efficiency, while simply getting the job done.

If you drive an xD, I'm sure you've been happy with its reliability, efficiency and ease of maintenance. The only area where things get a little tough is in choosing replacement tires. Scion has equipped the xD with the rare 195/60-16 size as Original Equipment. There are only six options available, with two of them being winter / snow tires. This severely limits your chances of finding the tire you may be looking for.

No worries, you can run the 205/55R16 alternate size instead. It fits on your original wheels, doesn't rub on the wheel wells, has a comparable overall diameter and won't affect overall performance. In the 205/55R16 size, you'll find 166 choices to choose from.

Search by size and find the best tire for how and where you drive your xD.

Great Scion tC Tires

Friday, February 22, 2013 by Steve Huffman

Toyota has a hit with their Scion brand and the tC is one of their most popular models. What's not to like? This sporty little coupe has got great styling and is a lot of fun to drive for not much money. Many tC owners are pretty particular about their ride and this includes their tires and wheels.

The most common sizes for the tC are 215/45R17 and 225/45R18. Popular tires for this vehicle tend to fall in either the Ultra High Performance All-Season or Ultra High Performance Summer category.

One of my favorite all-season tire choices for the tC is Continental's ExtremeContact DWS. This tire has been one of our best sellers for many years. It offers great handling, traction in all seasons and looks great on a Scion. Visible letters molded into the second rib from the outboard shoulder alert drivers of the tire's performance levels. A visible "DWS" indicates the tire has sufficient tread depth for dry conditions, as well as wet roads and light snow. After the "S" has worn away, the remaining "DW" indicates the tire only has sufficient tread depth for dry and most wet road conditions. And after the "W" and "S" have both worn away, the remaining "D" indicates the tire has appropriate tread depth for dry conditions only.

If you want to find a great value option for the tC, look at the Kumho Ecsta 4X. This Ultra High Performance All-Season tire does very well in just about all conditions. It provides a sporty ride for those you want to forget about the weather forecast. The tire combines responsive handling, capable cornering and year-round traction for dry, wet and wintry conditions, including light snow.

Are you looking to increase wet and dry traction while giving your vehicle a kart feel? Check out the Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport. This summer tire option maximizes sport driving pleasure without abandoning treadwear. Unlike the other two options, this tire isn't intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures or through snow.

This is the second vehicle on which I have installed these tires. Our excellent experience on the first vehicle (now about 10000 miles) is what led us to select the Defenders once again. We like everything about them, only cannot comment on tread wear as we haven't racked enough miles yet. I do have high hopes though!

Be sure to allow these tires to break in before you form your true opinion of them. My first reaction was some disappointment in the noise level, but after around 400 miles, the car ran quiet as I was hoping for, which is a big quality indicator for me.

500 miles now, and I will report back in when I log some more.

Love them at this time. Very good steering response as well.

40,000 miles over 6 years of very ordinary city/highway driving on a light-weight car, driven conservatively by an mpg-conscious driver. Occasionally rotated. Picked up a nail once, had the hole plugged, no further problems. Very reliable, stable, fairly quiet and smooth. Not great in ice and snow, but drivable. Getting good efficiency, keeping them pumped up. Much much better than the OEM tires were. Still plenty of tread left. Very happy with this purchase; we'll see if anyone comes out with something compelling enough to make me switch in a couple more years when these are worn out, assuming these tires are even still made in 2015.

Great Tire tough and classic raised white letters on a scion box gets many compliments. So far 68,000 miles I did not think they would last that long. If tire shimmies check air they are finicky wanting pressure to be even all the way around that always fixed it I had to replace air valve stem one time that was the problem. I rotated every 7,500 miles and had spin balanced and 4 wheel alignment after I year by toyota dealership. Great look and performance and no I do not work for bf goodrich and they track good made car feel more steady then the oem tires.

These tires are terrible. No grip in the rain at all. Even in the dry they have trouble gripping the road. That's not even during spirited driving, just casual cruising. Not good in a car with only 200hp.
