5-108 Bolt Pattern for your 2012 Ford Focus

With the launch of the 2012 Ford Focus, new Focus drivers have begun to call in.

Ford has changed the bolt pattern from 4-108 to 5-108, so our wheel suppliers have placed more emphasis on 5-108. Original Equipment wheel sizes range from 15" to 18' depending on trim level.

Overall clearance is good, so you can run 19" wheels on 235/35-19 or 245/35-19 tires. 20" wheels will work as well with 235/30-20 or 245/30-20 tires.

How big should you go? It depends on how you would like to balance ride comfort versus looks. The quality of your local roads is a factor as well. Generally, drivers in the west, southwest and south have better roads, allowing for larger wheels without excessively compromising ride and durability.

Some Jaguars, the Land Rover LR2, Lincoln LS and some Volvos also use 5-108, so selection should improve for these vehicles as well.

Any idea what range the offset should be within for proper fit on a 2012 Focus Se
Monday, March 5, 2012 by Cy

Fitment also depends on wheel width, spoke thickness and spoke curvature. An offset range doesn't take these variables into account so you have consider those parameters as well.

That being said, the OE 16" SE wheels are 7" wide with a 50mm offset. The 16" wheels we sell happen to range from 6.5" to 7.5" in wheel width and the 7.5" wheels we sell have offsets ranging from 40 mm to 48 mm.

I run an 235/40/R18 8" rim with a 42mm offset, no problems what so ever.

Can I run a 205/45 R17 on my 2012 Titanium Focus ? I believe it has a 17 x 7. 5 lug wheel.
Tuesday, September 17, 2013 by cy

Dave, 205/45-17 will fit on your Original Equipment 17x7.0 (your wheels 7"wide) and meet your vehicle's minimum Load Carrying Capacity requirements but they're not ideal because at 24.2" in overall diameter they're much smaller than your 215/50-17 (25.5") or 235/40-18 (25.4") Original Equipment tires. This 5% difference in diameter will change gearing, may cause issues with your traction control and will cause your speedometer to overestimate your actual speed by about 3 MPH at 60 MPH. So I don't recommend using them. Thanks. Cy.

Do you see any problem with replacing my 2012 Ford Focus SE 16" painted factory wheels with Focus 17 x 7 factory alum. wheels, 5 x 108 mm lug pattern?
Tuesday, January 7, 2014 by cy

Jeff, those wheels will work fine. All the following tire sizes will work: 215/50-17 and 225/45-17. Thanks. Cy.

We don’t sell the 2013 Original Equipment 18x8 Focus ST wheel so we can’t guarantee fit . . . but we sell other 18x8 55 ET wheels for your 2012 Ford Focus SE Sedan. So the 2013 Focus ST wheels should fit your 2012 Ford Focus SE Sedan. If you haven’t already done so please visit the Focus website we sponsor:

to get anecdotal feedback from other Focus drivers that have run these wheels.

Thanks. Cy.

Will A set of 18 with 8 /12 and 245/40/18 fit a 2012 focus se???
Tuesday, June 24, 2014 by cy

Martin,
We sell 18x8.5 46 mm offset OZ wheels on 245/40-18’s for the 2012 Ford Focus SE so as long as your wheels have a similar offset then your 245/40-18 on 18x8.5 will work.
Thanks. Cy.

Would 255/30z/r19 fit a 2012 ford focus se
Monday, February 6, 2017 by Cy

Ashley,
255/30-19 is slightly wider than what we've test fit on your Focus so I would recommend getting anecdotal feedback from other Focus drivers at:
http://forums.focaljet.com/forumdisplay.php/316-Mk-III-Ford-Focus
Hopefully you'll find feedback from another 3rd Generation Focus driver with the same width and offset wheel who has experimented with 255/30-19.

Will a 18x8 rim with 225 45 18 tires fit without rub?
Thursday, April 13, 2017 by Cy

Konnor, 225/45-18 is slightly taller than what we've test fit on your Focus so there is a risk of rubbing.
