I WILL buy more of these tires. I am hard on cars, and tires especially so. These tires are so much better than the old tires that came off that I no longer have some of my perceived suspension problems! What a difference the proper tires can make! Awesome wet traction, like these tires were made for my Firebird. Good job, BFG!

January 30, 2013

I bought the tires from another person with 2 seasons on them and about 1/2 tread left. I drive pretty aggressively in a car that is RWD, heavy, and 370hp. This tire is extremely impressive. It performs better on extremely slick roads then my summer tires do in the rain. This winter we've had multiple days where it was icy and some pretty heavy snow falls. I never once felt like I was going to lose it. Once traction control kicked in, the tire gripped instantly and I was in complete control. I've even pushed the car pretty hard around long sweeping corners in the snow and it barely slid. I took the car out on a day where we got 3-4" of snow on unplowed roads to see how it would handle and I was able to safely get up hills, stop, and turn. I feel safer with these tires in this car then I did in an AWD envoy denali.
I only have a couple complaints. Due to the higher sidewall and softer tire, there is a decent amount of roll when going around corners. There is also a noticeable amount of tire noise especially when slowing down. Not enough to prevent me from buying the tire again though.
Overall I am very satisfied and plan to stick with blizzaks in the future. I'm looking forward to seeing how the tires are when new.

I wasn't expecting much from an inexpensive tire, but in our first snow of the year (8") they were fantastic. I had no issues at all. I even felt comfortable letting my wife, who is from a tropical country, drive in the snow. If the tread wears well, these will be the best Goodyear tires I have ever owned.

I have these tires on a '04 pontiac Bonneville GXP as summer tires. Rarely gets used during cold months at all. On the way home from getting these mounted I had a wheel alignment done as previous Bridgestone potenza tires had severe inner wear. The Bridgestons are the only other tires I have had on this car and the MXM's are far and away a better tire by comparison. Quiet, good traction, great wear and very impressed when caught in light show with these. They are a great overall fit for my Pontiac Bonneville GXP. Interesting side note: I check air pressure at least twice a month and these tires hold pressure the best of any I have had on any car. Even after 5 months of storage I take the car out and tire pressure did not go down. These are not a Pilot but if you want something that has a higher tread wear rateing while giving up little in performance this is for you.

Replaced the OEM Hankook 727A tires, which I got 43000 miles out of, with these Kumho KH16 tires.Tires handle well on dry and wet.Only used with a trace of snow on ground one time, but seemed to grip well.Overall seems comparable to my previous Hankook tire for considerably less price per tire. Also road noise minimal and fairly smooth ride.Would recommend this tire for the price and value that it provides! The car that I have is a sporty subcompact. At the present time I have put approximately 4000 miles on these tires.I will update in a few months. These seem great so far!

i had these tires put on my grand prix and drove them through winter and thought "these arent a bad winter tire for being an all-season". The only negative thing i can say about these tires is in the extreme cold they do not preform very well on ice/hardpacked snow. This negative is absolutely out-weighed by their preformance in dry and wet/extremly wet conditions. There can be at least an inch of water on the highway and can be pouring rain and you will barely even notice it. Get yourself a set of true winter tires and use these as 3 season as they are absoultely amazing.

I love this tire. It is a 50K tire and I have 86+K on this tire and just now buying replacements. The tread wear is incredible. Comparing it's V rating to to Z rated tires, I get better wear and great grab to the road. I drive an avg. highway speed of 80mph and put in alot of miles. There have only been a few occasions that I needed to excellerate past that and only to 115MPH. I will never drive over 150 mph let alone consistently at speeds over 150. It provides wonderful handling in all weather conditions and cornering is awesome. I have had Pirelli, Michelin, Yokos on other vehicles (Audi 4000, 300ZX, Pontiac G8)and there was no comparison. I will buy this tire over and over again.

So far so good. Just had these installed on my GTO. 350 hp with rear wheel drive living in WI required some winter tires for this car, which I just purchased. Night and day difference between all-season BFG tires and these winter tires. Work great on light snow and ice so far. Traction control has kicked in on occasion on acceleration, but not on braking. The car is much more sure footed on the ice and snow so I recommend these tires.

I bought these tires given the fairly good reviews. I also had a set on a Pontiac Grand Prix I once owned and was extremely happy with them, especially in snow. However, I am convinced that this is not the same tire I had before. They did not wear well at all. The tires were initially very quiet, but by 10,000 miles, they had become very noisy. At least one had developed a thumping noise which was of course amplified when on the highway. The edge of the tire thread also had noticeable cracking by 20,0000 miles, I'm guessing due to poor wear. The tires handled very poorly in snow. Even at low speed, I really had to watch curves. I will certainly not buy these tires again and will probably steer clear of General Tire for good.

Look. I'm a high school kid, with not much money, and I researched a lot on TireRack to get 4 sumitomo HTR A/S P01s after a sudden accident on the way back from K.C. It was the best tire that the store carries. So I got them for 398. Which is not so cheap but.. hey it is the only thing that touches the road.

Dry and Wet has been excellent. I have to admit sometimes I used the tires too hard and then the ABS warns in the rain... Well. It's my fault not theirs. One time, some nobrainer driver with Pontiac 6.0L even lost me in an unintentional racing in a roundabout.. which shows how good these sumitomos are. Very quiet. There's a section of city 40mph road right outside our hwy exit ramp, and I run that road a lot... Wow. You only can hear the engine! Highway has been impressive, since I go to K.C. frequently with my family... and I always drive; handling has been excellent. Recently we had 2 snows in the city.. and it's a tiny town so not much municipal snow cleanups on the roads. But the tires run nicely. I'm not saying it'll ever beat SNOW TIRES, but if you give them a deal with low speed, early breaking, they can really show you how efficient they work. keep the tire pressure steady, folks... I'm going to bump my tire PSI a little higher too... they say low temps decrease air volumes--> tire rigidity... which sounds make sense. Anyways. Good tires, recommended. Better than the Cooper Cobra GT fronts + Goodyear Eagle G/A rears for sure.

I've driven about 20,000 miles on my BF's and I have been completely satisfied. This is my 3rd different set of tires on my grand prix and finally found a winner. Wet, dry and snow have been no problem. Every tire I've had in the past couldnt come close to the overall performance of the BF's. I was reccomended to get these tires over a couple other brand and I was skeptical. Well, Im glad I took his advise. I will put these tires on every car I ever own so please keep making them!

Hurst Gives Your New Mustang or Camaro That Old School Look with the Shaker

Friday, December 28, 2012 by Doc Horvath

Ever since Detroit restarted the muscle car war with the new Camaro and Mustang, many people have looked to give these vehicles a retro look with classic five-spoke wheels. In an effort to mix old school looks with modern finishes, Hurst has introduced the Shaker in 20" staggered width fitments for both vehicles. The wheel is also a fit for the following applications:

  • Pontiac G8
  • Chrysler 300
  • Dodge Charger
  • Dodge Magnum
Hurst Shaker
Hurst Shaker
Hurst Shaker
Hurst Shaker

Shaker wheels retain the classic five-spoke design with an innovative design that allows the owner to use either black or gold inserts in the center of the spokes to personalize the application. The inner barrel and sides of the spokes are painted black and clearcoated to hide brake dust, while the edges of the spokes are machined to expose brushed aluminum underneath for contrast. Available in both 20x8.5 and 20x10 sizes, the Shaker wheel is perfect for either a square set-up with the 8.5" wide wheel on all four corners or a mix of the two widths to put the wider tires and wheels on the back axle only.

I had no intention of using these Tires in the snow, but due to my own laziness to get my Blizzaks on. I was driving during the 'Draco' blizzard - thru drifts, and on packed snow/ice- they handled superbly! I've used two sets of these tires on my Pontiac vibe also, excellent wet weather handling. When they wear out, I will replace them with the same!

I really liked these tires for the first 20,000 miles but they went down hill from there.
They wear very quickly on the edges unless you keep them perfectly full of air. That's hard to do in a climate that changes up and down dramatically like our area. Once they start wearing they get noisy and if the edges get worn they feel mushy steering at high speeds. I have 41,000 miles and they are shot. I have 90,000 miles on my Tahoe Michelins but they are a different tire, of course. I was hoping for a little more for my money because these are expensive tires.
