Love this tire. Blows away the old nitto 555's I had on the car before these. Was shocked at how long the tread is lasting for such a sticky tire. Will be looking for another set when these are done.

Bought this tire as a replacement for the Conti DWS's. I have been impressed with this tire for the entire time and is a huge step above a lot of other brands. A very aggressive tread pattern, moves snow and water efficiently from the contact surface. Overall a good buy and well worth the money for an all-season tire.

Very smooth and quiet, but not as grippy as the original Bridgestone Potenza RE050As that came on the car. Also, much worse treadlife than the Bridgestones (22K vs 32K).

we put a set of these on the GTP last year and they have been great. They have great wet traction with very good dry traction. Winter driving these left no drama as it plowed right through anything we had here in the snow belt in NE Ohio where we see alot of snow.

Are there better tires yes but most are more expensive. There are other similar tires in this price range but they all have a little issue here or there. Tires tend to be like cars and the newer the model the better the design and compounding. The GT is a fairly new tire and will improve with updares.

For the money it is a lot of tire for what you get. But keep in mind what you paid and don't expect it to our last or perform tires at twice the price. For a daily driver year round these are a solid tires.

I will replace the Pilots on my HHR SS with these as the OE Pilots have worn well but have absolutly no wet traction and I never use them in the snow since they can' handle wet in the summer. For the money I will not find a tire that will do better than these.

As for noise I find no issue. If you use a radio you never notice it if you have a decently quiet car to start.

Initial Review, 8,000 Miles on Tires
April 11, 2012

I bought the Star Specs as a replacement for the anemic and horrible Goodyear RSAs that came on the G8. My upgraded GT model was putting down well over 400hp and would roast any tires unless you were already highway speeds. I put the Star Specs on and was absolutely blown away at the night and day difference in steering response and traction. My 4000lb car felt 500lbs lighter and more nimble. I autocrossed the G8 at local SCCA events about 10 times and was pleasantly surprised that the car became competitive. The turn in is very quick, the stability at highways speeds is incredible, and the dry traction in insane. Your level of control is nearly endless as it is very easy to tell when they are reaching their limits. I didnt win any trophys but it was 100x more fun to drive.

I drive the car every day on NYC streets and when the weather is colder they can become a bit jarring on rough roads but in the warmer months they are amazing. My recommendation to prolong tread life if you are autocrossing/tracking them is to buy a $15 water sprayer (like the ones used for pesticides) at your local Home Depot and make sure to ligthly spray them down every couple runs. It'll prevent them from feeling oily as they reach higher temperatures.

I just bought a set for my girlfriends 2010 GTI and I will be buying another set for my 2013 BRZ Limited when it arrives next month.

This was my first set of Michelins. In my size, these are $274 tires. By far the most I've ever spent on a tire. But I was sold by friends that Michelin = the best. I will say the tires have impressed me on the road, but, they didn't balance that great. In fact of all my years of buying tires, 1 of the 4 of these Michelin PS2's was the WORST tire I've ever bought in terms of balance. I know balance has much to do with wheels, the wheels were checked for runout and spun separately. It was the tire.

So overall - a great tire on the road but quality control seems questionable. Will try something cheaper next time. HTRZ III probably.

Follow-Up Review, 20000 Miles on Tires
April 11, 2012

I have about 20,000 on these Michelin PS2 now. My GTO is a 400hp, rear wheel drive car, and I drive aggressively. These have easily been the BEST tires I have ever bought for any car I have owned. The wear is very even, the tires have maintained their balance perfectly, and for an ultra hi perf tire they are quite comfortable. Will be replacing these with the next generation of this tire, the Pilot Super Sport. I used to think Michelin was overpriced and only for tire snobs but I'm a total believer now, these are worth every penny.

You must educate yourself 1st: performance tires are soft rubber, loud, and lower mileage and treadlife. Replaced my Goodyear RSAs with these. So far they are the best tire in this size and configuration. Being a soft tire it wears as expected low but it is a trade-off for the performance. I would buy these again.

This tire was a HUGE imporvement in the snow and ice of NE Ohio over the OEM Hankook Optimos (which were horrible). The reason I said I would not buy these tires anymore is because they were completely shot after 25,000 miles (actually they were shot before 20,000). When the tread reaches the end of its life they are terrible in the snow (like the Hankooks), but the "S" on the DWS was gone, so the system works as advertised. In general I thought they were good tires, they just didn't live up to the advertised life, so that was disappointing. I did not mark them down anywhere except for the teadwear because of this.

I have 30,000 miles on this set and I have been very happy with the performance. The wear bars are getting too close for comfort and I need to replace the fronts. I didn't rotate at all, so the rears have loads of tread left (at least 60-70%). I probably could have gotten more mileage if I had rotated, but I never seemed to get around to it. But, the tire has performed beautify and really did transform the handling of my HHR, which was a nice little car from the beginning. OEM tires were Firestone Affinity which I found a little scary on slick surfaces. But with the GT's the car is more like a little tractor in the snow and less like a toboggan. I will buy two new ones for the front today. As to excessive noise, I have a Pontiac with Goodrich tires on, and there seems to be little comparison between the two. If you have an HHR, you will probably appreciate the GTs as I do. Hope this helped.

They are great on dry, good on wet, average at best on snow/ice.
Overall, an above average tire for an average price.
I expect a great tire. These are not great. They are Good, not Great.
My particular set, had a USA manufacturing location, which I do value..as I'd rather my fellow citizens be gamefully employed.
