I have nothing but good things to say about this tire, I love it. I have a stock engine with a monster shift kit in my transmission. I had traction issues at first but after installing these tires, my baby grips to the road. I can put my foot to the floor at a standstill without any worries now. I have 285 35 18 on the rear of my Trans Am with some 275 40 17 continental extreme contact dw on the front. I wish I had all 4 PS A/S 3 on my TA. These puppies hold the road even during heavy rain.

These tires are the best investment that I have ever made for my car! These tires are everything that they say and more. My car drives better now than it has in 7 years that I've had it. These tires were worth every penny and some! I will definitely be buying another set when these tires wear out

I drive a Holden Clubsport R8 6.2L manual (G8 GXP) but better. I don't drive the car a lot 15500 miles in 2.5 years but when I do it's very spirited and these tyres I found to be a bit squirmy when new and improved a lot as tread wore a little and are still very good in the wet even with minimal tread. Front tyres still have heaps of tread but rears suffer under the power. Overall a very good tyre and would bye again.

The factory tires on my Torrent never held in the snow. I slipped all over the place. Replaced with these and I never had a problem in the winter. Even with rotating the wear was somewhat uneven but I got 58,880 miles before I purchased another set. I probably should have changed them out sooner-- about the last 10,000 miles when I went in for oil changes it was recommended I get new tires. These were not available when I went shopping so ended getting Michelin Defenders. Haven't been in the snow with the Defenders yet.

Bought a pair for the front my 93 Sunbird SE,everyday work car. These tires out performed any tire I have ever owned. I never rotated them, always been on the front of a FWD car. I have pushed these tires to the test with hard cornering and fast accelerations at times. I have a 3.1 V6 with a lot of torque, with stock tires on hard acceleration would easily spin, these tire barely squealed, and grabbed the road. Had great traction in wet weather and really no hydroplaning, unless hitting a large puddle at a high speed, but manageable. These tires ran smooth and had grate responsiveness. I live in New England and these tires are not for winter driving, they do okay in a few inches of snow but beyond that you need to run dedicated snow tires! Great tire based on performance and price! I have had Kumho tires on other vehicles I owned and have always performed well! Do your homework and read the reviews see what best fits your driving needs. Good luck and I hope this helps

Initial Review, 50,000 Miles on Tires
November 22, 2013

I drive a 2011 Toyota Matrix for my job, I drive about 160 miles a day and the Defender is a very good tire, the only complaint I have at this point is the treadwear doesnt seem to be living up to the specs, they are rotated every 10k miles, now I havent had to replace them yet so who knows maybe they will get near the 80,000-90,000 mile range but I seriously doubt it...other than that these are just a great all around tire.
they are THE QUIETEST passenger tire I have ever drove on (as a comparison theres another 2011 Matrix where I work that got Uniroyal Tiger Paws on it and they are a average VERY NOISY tire and I mean NOISY!)
I actually put Defenders on my own vehicle (2004 Pontiac Gran Prix) and love the tires on my car as well but I only have 15,000 miles on those, so cant really comment to much on them.
I consider myself a very knowledgeable car person so I can be more criticle than the "average" car owner...and having said that I would recommend these tires to anyone who wants a very good and very quiet all season tire.

Initial Review, 27,000 Miles on Tires
March 29, 2014

The G-MAX was my third set of tires on this car. 35000 miles seems to be about the maximum amount mileage I can get out of a set of tires with this car. I keep it aligned and watch tire pressure closely but, I cannot rotate the tires due to the different size tires and offset of the OEM wheels. For all around performance, the G-MAX was better than the OEM Bridgestones and the second set Kumho LX, which performed well except on ice and deep snow. However, there is a reason why I only got 27,000 miles instead of 35,000+ with the G-max. I had to replace them because I couldn't stand the noise anymore. The first 5000 miles were fine but after that it sounded like I was running mud tires. Handling on dry, wet, snow and ice were fine. Treadwear good and even. Noise was awful. My radio only goes up to 10. VanHalen called me and ask me to quit playing their music so loud. Now trying the Hankook Ventus and Eddie hasn't called once. I'll report back in 20,000 miles. BTW,Tire Rack rocks. Working on about my 10th set of tires with different vehicles from them.

After two sets of of tires that the tire shop put on I decided to take matters into my hands. If these tires didn't fix the wet traction or the snow traction I was ready to trade in the car. What a difference good tires make. My wife loves these Pirelli's and they were about $30 a tire cheaper than the other brands. Highly Recommended.

On the car they look small, but the weather has been terrible this year and this has really made me appreciate them. The traction and handling have been great. It's hard to break it loose. For that you need a fast turn in heavy snow or on ice. At ten thousand miles I haven't noticed any tread wear.

Initial Review, 10,000 Miles on Tires

Keep in mind these tires went on a light 2 wheel drive car and they are all season tires. I was looking for a tire that would get a Pontiac Vibe out of the barn during northern Indiana winters without going to full blown winter tires. First of all, this is the 4th set of tires I have had on this vehicle and I put them on in the summer. They absolutely ROCKED! The best ride all around this car has ever had. It was like driving a totally different vehicle. Then came old man winter and these brutal Polar Vortexes. Once again, this is a low clearance 2 wheel drive car and NO tire will be a lifesaver on ice unless you get a studded one. Regardless, I have been impressed. I haven't gotten stuck in any snow that the car didn't bottom out on. I have not have any slide outs much less any slide offs. It obviously can't compete with my 4x4 Jeep and I obviously have to drive like I am on snow and ice and not like the idiots you see on the evening news, but odds are that I will replace them with the exact same tires when these wear out. Plus, they make them just a few miles up the road from my house so I am supporting the local economy!
