With so many wipers available on the market today it is tough to decide which one is most efficient.
The best one I have found is the
PIAA Silicone wiper. The rubber blade is enhanced with silicone, which gets transferred to the windshield every time the wipers are used creating a super slick invisible coating which allows rain water to bead into small droplets and slide off with normal wiping. The silicone coating also eliminates chatter and squeaking which I found very common with other wipers.
Tire Rack carries a full line of PIAA wipers from 12-inch to 24-inch sizes to fit most of the vehicles on the road today.
Tire Rack carries
PIAA and
Hella replacement headlight bulbs to offer you a safer driving experience. If you're not happy with your factory headlight bulb output maybe you should give the

Compared to conventional windshield wiper blades,
PIAA Super Silicone wiper blades can make a dramatic difference in removing rain and snow from your windshield.

The unique feature of each PIAA Super Silicone blade is the silicone material in the blade that not only allows it to sweep more smoothly over the windshield surface, it also leaves an invisible coating of silicone on the windshield that causes water to bead up and not adhere to the surface even when the wipers aren't on.
The silicone film acts much like the rain-repelling treatments sold in automotive parts stores by causing water to form small beads on the windshield surface. Because the material is already in the PIAA Super Silicone blades, the inconvenience of having to periodically re-apply a treatment to the windshield is gone. A small amount of silicone is deposited on the windshield each time the blade sweeps across, and that continues for the life of the blade.
At lower speeds the silicone film makes water and snow easier for the blades to sweep from the surface, and at higher speeds the pressure of air flow accross the windshield means that the wiper blades can be run intermittently or at lower speeds than normally required to keep the windshield clear. Many times at highway speeds the beading action of the silicone film will mean is isn't necessary to even turn the windshield wipers on in rain or snow.

It's unfortunate that head light bulbs can't last forever, Nothing seems to be more annoying than a bulb that burned out. It weakens your view, and has this weird way of making you feel silly as you drive.
Make sure the front end of your car is always in perfect condition with a set of aftermarket lights that at least diminish the frequency at which you'll need to replace headlights.
Tire Rack offers
Hella lighting and
PIAA lighting products, both of which do just that.

PIAA Super Silicone Wiper Blades I have on my car and would suggest checking to see if they are available in a
fit for your vehicle.
It doesn't take much to switch out a head light bulb, but it takes a lot of science to actually create one. Inside those little replacement bulbs is, among other components, one key element: Halogen.
Halogen bulbs are quite common in today's vehicles. Halogen and other gasses combine to create a constant light output throughout the life of the bulb. It's the Tungsten wire within that creates the need for replacement bulbs. Despite the chemical process initiated by the halogen, the wire burns up and the bulb goes out.
And that's why a variety of replacement bulbs are filled with xenon instead. Xenon High Intensity Discharge (HID) light bulbs replace the halogen with xenon and the wire with a ballast, ultimately generating a whiter light source. It is, quite possibly, the most advanced replacement bulbs you can find. (

Though it may seem simple, there is a lot of technology that goes into silicone wiper blades. Studies are done on individual car windshields in different types of weather, which leads to perfectly arched wiper blades that gently remove rain, snow and ice from your line of site.
Further, a variety of materials are tested to determine the best possible material with which to create the wiper itself. In today's market, we typically see two variations: silicone wiper blades and graphite wiper blades. Both of which are excellent options.
PIAA's Super Silicone wiper blades were designed to be the wiper of choice. The rubber wiper blade coats the windshield with a light layer of silicone during use to promote continuous water beading in the rain. In addition, the silicone assists the blade during movement to prevent excess noise often caused by a blade dragging along the glass.
PIAA also offers a
Super Graphite wiper blade. Their exclusive Molybdenum graphite bonding process creates a consistent graphite coating that won't weaken the rubber wiper blade like compound graphite materials. This coating maintains itself throughout the life of the blade, assuring a reliable view without excess noise or streaking.

If you're like me, you always forget something when leaving the house for the holidays. The GPS power cord, sunglasses, house keys, etc. If traveling this season take some time to prep your car for the drive. Below are a few things you can do at home to ensure a smooth and safe trip.
- Check your air pressure. Keeping them within spec will help ensure correct handling, load capacity, mileage, and tire wear. We have a great selection of accurate air gauges to ensure the tires are up to recommended pressure. Don't forget the spare tire!
- Check your tire tread depth. As a tire wears it's important to realize that the tire's ability to perform in rain and snow will be reduced. With 2/32" of remaining tread depth, resistance to hydroplaning in the rain at highway speeds has been significantly reduced, and traction in snow has been virtually eliminated. If rain and wet roads are a concern, you should consider replacing your tires when they reach approximately 4/32" of remaining tread depth. We have a great tread depth gauge to measure with. You can also get a general idea by measuring with a coin.
- Have your battery tested. Nothing's worse that getting the family and gear packed in the cold only to have the car not start. We have a wide selection of sizes from Braille to choose from.
- Check condition of your wipers and lights. If you can't see... you can't drive. Check out our PIAA and Valeo wiper selection and PIAA lighting for your vision needs.
- Make sure your wheels are properly torqued. The correct lug nut torque should be listed in your owners manual
Double checking these few things can help your trip go a long way. We all know the holidays can be hectic, but if you're proactive, put safety first, and take your time the trip should be stress free.

I have been using the
PIAA Xtreme White Plus Headlight Bulbs and also Super Silicone Wiper Blades on my vehicle for some time now. I found it difficult to see

at night, especially in rainy conditions. The PIAA Xtreme White Plus head light bulbs offered me clearer visibility over my OE headlights and the
PIAA Super Silicone Aftermarket Wiper Blades kept my windshield much cleaner than my OE wiper blades.
I have most of the family using the the PIAA wiper blades. Today as I was installing the latest set of PIAA Super Silicone Replacement Blades on my grandparents' car, we were discussing how visibility has improved for them using these two PIAA products. The PIAA headlight bulbs will not be any brighter or show light further down the road. They will, however, allow you

to recognize road hazards easier as they project a clearer light down the road. The PIAA lighting and replacement wiper blades are available for most vehicles.
I have been a huge fan of our PIAA Super Silicone wiper blades for some time. Last week I ran through a construction zone that splattered tar all up the front of my truck. I had to use Laquer Thinner to clean it all off the windshield. I followed it up by 50/50 alcohol and water mix and then finally Windex. At that point I knew it was as clean as it could be and the initial silicone treatment that comes with the blades was removed. After just a week of wiper use you can clearly see the blades have re-deposited a new thin layer of silicone back onto the window to repel water JUST like they claim. And with proper care they last a long time.
Very cool.

After using the
PIAA Super Silicone Wiper Blade for a few months. I am impressed with the performance they offer. Compared to the original equipment wipers that came on my General Motors vehicle the
PIAA aftermarket wipers are a nice improvement. I have had them for 3 months now so it may not be a fair comparison to the original equipment blades, which I had used for a year. The first thing I noticed about these blades was how much better I could see while using the wipers in rainy conditions. Another thing I like about the
PIAA is the way the water beads as a result of the silicone coating on the windshield allowing the water to be easily removed by the wiper. I have been very happy with the
PIAA Super Silicone Wipers. Take a look at how they compare to the traditional Wiper Blades like I used to have on my car.

| Prior to wiper use, prepare windshield according to the instructions included in the Windshield Preparation Kit. | | Run blades "dry" for 5 minutes to complete windshield preparation. This spreads initial silicone coating on the windshield. | | Wiping action makes windshield water-repellant, so rain beads up, | | and is removed by the wipers at low to moderate speeds, Super-smooth glide eliminates annoying chattering and squeaking. | | or by wind pressure at moderate to high speeds. |
Then compared to the traditional wiper blade without the use of silicone blades

| ............. | Normal windshield allows rain water to collect and puddle. | | So rain never beads up,... ..... | | there by reducing visibility. | | Noisy, chatter, vibration especially for chemical-coated windshield. |
On a side note regarding my installation experience make sure you read the instructions and follow them. Their are some specific instructions you need to follow to make the wipers a success. Make sure you use the correct hook on installation which is shown in the instructions. Once I figured things out the installation went quickly.
