These tires replaced the OE ContiProContact that came with the car. The rears needed replacing, so I replaced them all to stick with the same tire as they had gotten noisy anyway. After 10K, these are beginning to get rather noisy as well. This is a disappointment. Otherwise no complaints.

Replaced factory Pirelli PZeros which came OE for this vehicle. The Michelin PSS has outperformed the PZeros in all respects; traction is noticeably improved in straight line acceleration. Rears need replacing now at 10k which is typical for this car. Fronts have about another 1/2 life so I expect I will need all 4 tires in another 10k miles.

Outstanding Tire and now they reduced the price. So now this has become a great value!
So far I have had this tire for 2 months with about 600 miles. They perform great on the autobahns in Europe and handle pretty well in the Alps on cold wet roads. Since I've put these tires on my 08 MB E 350 4MATIC, the car drives just as smooth as the day I picked it up from the factory. This tire is very smooth, quiet, and handles, and responds great on the open road. I highly recommend this tire. ADM

I have had this tire for about 2 months on my 08 MB E350 4 MATIC and the car drives better than new. Great traction on the autobahn, performed very well in the Alps last weekend. This tire is very quiet, stops well, great handeling, and as stated, it makes my car drive as if i just picked it up from the dealer barnd new. I highly recommend this tire. ADM

Have only 2,000 miles on these tires, but so far so good. They are amazing in the cold dry and have gotten me through a huge blizzard this year. Ultimate snow traction is less than studless tires but the tradeoff is well worth it for the dry weather performance. I would definitely recommend to other C63 drivers.

Replaced Continental's that only lasted 40,000 miles. Ride and handling much improved. Noticed roughly 2 mpg improvement which is the main reason I did the research and purchased tires. Great stabililty even on this very heavy crossover. Price much better than comparable Michelin's. Gas savings will more than pay for tires.

I just went through a winter that delivered record snowfalls and the tires performed as I had hoped they would - excellent. I drive in deep snow all the time and despite driving a high performance rear-wheel drive car, I had no problems driving on ice and deep snow on a regular basis. I put them to the test while driving through the Adirondacks in a blizzard after a day of skiing Whiteface...the tires got me through 6-8 inches of snow on the icy roads without a problem...even the step hills and sharp turns...outstanding winter tire fit for my car. I know winter and I love winter driving..great recommendation Tire Rack

Excellent Tires. Love it. Previously I had Continental Extreme Contact DSW. They were good enough tires but MXM4 are simply awesome. Quiet ride, excellent handling, good traction and its very comfortable. I have done 500 miles so far but I am happy that I chose MXM4. I have not tried this tires in snow so won't be able to tell how they would be like in that weather.

I+ thought this tire can handle light snow. But today there is about 2 inches of snows, and I can't even stop! It slided about 3 cars length before it comes to a full stop from 40mph. But to be fair, 255 is very wide on snow.... Please use caution with this tire if yours are wide too

Dunlop Sport Maxx Race: DOT-Legal Track Tire Expands Size Lineup

Monday, March 25, 2013 by Ben Rooney

The Dunlop Sport Maxx Race is a racing tire that is street legal. Unlike some other race tires that are DOT-legal but not intended for road use, the Sport Maxx Race is able to be driven to and from the track. This tire performs excellently on dry roads and was introduced as the stock tire for the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series. Dunlop has recently expanded their offerings for the widths ranging from 235mm to 325mm.

These tires are a class up from Extreme Performance Summer tires that offer a balance of street longevity and track performance. The Dunlops are more track focused and have less longevity on the street. While we haven't had the opportunity to test the Sport Maxx Race yet, we have received some very positive customer feedback. In a recent review, one owner writes:

"Though it is soft and wears quickly, it is actually quite comfortable and not very loud at all. I have two sets of wheels/tires; one for the street and another for track. Other than the price and how quickly they wear, I can't find a single fault with this tire. It is designed for the track, and is only DOT-certified so that you can drive your car to the track, instead of trailering it there. The Sport Maxx is the best tire of its kind, in my experience."

While it's definitely not a tire for everyone based on price and limited treadlife, it could be just the ticket for a dedicated enthusiast. View available sizes to see if the Dunlop Sport Maxx Race is an option for your vehicle.

I am starting on the second season with these tires. My car is stored most of the cold months. I am happy with how these tire hold up to rough roads and very aggressive driving I do. These are very low profile tires in a staggered formation on my AMG- 245/35/19 front and 275/30/19 rear. The quietness and traction they provide is outstanding. I have been in a few hard rain storms and maintained 75-80mph to test the traction, hydroplaning, and they felt very capable. The Michelin's feel very confident at high end speeds. I believe the warranty on these is 30,000 miles. I don't expect them to last that long with my driving style, though if i were to get 20,000 on them, I'd be happy. I will most likely try these tires on a track day in the future. They are worth the money!

I bought these tires 27 months ago because the OEM Michelins were worn out after 15,000 miles, not unusual for the E350. These were rated 40,000 or so I thought. I have had them rotated twice per year or about every 3500 miles. The wear is not even so there is little point in trying to make a claim. I have always preferred Michelins but I am going to switch to Conti.

Initial Review, 10,000 Miles on Tires
November 03, 2010

Honestly, I think most of the reviews in here are either bias or people don’t bother and put 10 in every category in the survey. Hence the ratings are skewed to the positive side. I can't agree with most of the folks who surveyed here about the noise level and handling. It bothers the heck out of me when driving on highway. That "woooo & wannng " noises are very irritating. Trust me, it’s not the road. I have tried on both smooth tarmac and concrete roads. I had to turn up the radio to compensate for it.

Handling in the DRY is mediocre at its best. I think Continental should rename it to OWS instead (Only Wet & Snow). I am not very confident in turning the car at high speed when exiting off the ramp---the car feels like it is not responding to where I want it to point. I have set the suspension to Sport 2, so I am pretty sure it’s the tires’ problem.

I have nothing bad to say about the tire in wet and snow. Snow is where this tire shines. During the blizzard in the beginning of the year here in DC, this tire combined with the 4matic works like a snowmobile. I was passing most SUVs all day long. The only time I was stuck was when the car had no more clearance which was about 6-7 inches of snow.

I am also very happy with the warranty with Continental. Two months after the installation of the tires, the right front had 2 bubbles. I immediately contacted TireRack and asked for a replacement. Be aware that the manufacture only warrants the first 2/32” of usage. I believe I still had 10/32” (11/32” is new) at that point so I was good. The only thing I have to pay is the shipping back to TireRack.

Overall, I am happy with the tire, but don’t expect to use these tires to sprint through the slalom in the dry as they won’t be able to catch up your demand. Also, if you can ignore the road noise, I would say go for it.

I don't know why so many manufacturers including Mercedes use this particular tire. These were expensive, noisy when new, badly cupped near the end of their life, and were bald as a ping pong ball at 25,000 miles, well short of the claimed treadlife. I drive about 25,000 interstate miles a year for work, so I thought I would at least get the claimed 40,000 miles. I had my dealer check the car out (still under warranty) to make sure the car wasn't causing any of these issues and they assured me it was these tires. They also couldn't believe I got more than about 20,000 miles out of them, which is the tread life they usually see.

Simple review - Fantastic tyres really in every respect. Outperform the best Michelin Touring tires by a mile (no pun). Frankly, the best tyres I have ever purchased, and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a higher end touring tyre, and whom doesn't want to pay the Continental price - you even get a better tyre than Continental with these Bridgestones. Bottom line, you get what you pay for, and irrespective of this rationale, you just get great value comparitively. I will never buy Michelin (or anything else for that matter) again after these.

Side note - Bridgestone in general; I purchased a set of Blizzaks a decade ago and they completely outperform ANY other snow tyre I've had before.

Just a great manufacturer.

PS, don't be fooled by 'Turanza with Serenity Technology' you have to get the 'Serenity Plus'.
