I recently purchased a 2009 Infiniti G37 X Coupe that still had the original all-season tires. With the harsh winter in the Midwest, I have been using winter tires on all my cars. Still, I was tempted to "get by" with the vehicle's all-season tires until spring. With only another month of icy and slick conditions left and the vehicle's all-wheel drive capabilities, I thought new tires could wait until another time.
On the way to pick up my new vehicle, road conditions became poor and snowfall was heavy. However, my wife's Mazda CX-7 with Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V1 winter tires were making easy work of the conditions. As we passed many SUVs and other vehicles that had slid off the road, I was reminded how winter / snow tires were keeping us safe.
As you can guess, after picking up my new G37 X, the drive home was stressful and slow. That is why I had a set of Michelin X-Ice Xi2 (shown here) installed on my vehicle yesterday and can finally enjoy my new ride for the first time.
Keep driving fun and invest in great winter / snow tires.
