Quietest Tires List

Friday, July 22, 2011 by Gary Stanley
Many drivers use their vehicles primarily on the highway and/or for commuting. And, unless the driver likes to have the stereo up at a high volume, having a quiet riding tire is usually pretty high on their list of priorities.

To simplify the process of finding the quietest tires, listed below are a few of the top choices organized by performance category:

Michelin Energy Saver A/S
Goodyear Assurance ComforTred

Hankook Optimo H727
Yokohama AVID TOURING-S

Michelin Primacy MXV4
Goodyear Assurance ComforTred Touring

With thousands of miles reported, each tire is listed near the top of our Tire Survey Results, in part for their low noise levels. Shop by vehicle to find the tire that works best for your vehicle.

I have a 2002 Avalon. What category of tires should I buy? Pass. All-Seas., Grand Tour. All-Seas., or Grand Touring All-Seas.?

Charles,

If you're looking for a good combination of a smooth and quiet ride with good handling and steering response for your Avalon, I would suggest tires in the Grand Touring All-Season category.
