Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tires Installed on My Car

Michelin Pilot Super Sport
I've been fortunate enough to receive a set of Michelin's new Pilot Super Sport tires to test and review on my 2009 Infiniti G37X coupe. This tire is really creating some great buzz in the BMW internet forums with glowing reviews. I can now count myself as a big fan of this tire.

You can see my original blog post about this new Max Performance Summer tire here. In that post, I explained how the new Pilot Super Sport tires compare to the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires. If you have the PS2 tires now, check out that blog post to see what kind of improvements you could expect to see.

Now, I actually have my hands on a set and have been driving on them for about two weeks.

My impressions?
  • This tire is quieter than I expected. Even thought this is a Max Performance Summer tire and shouldn't have a very quiet ride...it does!
  •  The ride is not harsh at all. I was expecting a very firm ride that normally comes along with performance tires of this caliber. The Pilot Super Sport feels very composed and impacts are muted well.
  • Grip levels are phenomenal. This is the most praised attribute of this tire that I've seen shared with other BMW forum members that have been posting about it.

To summarize, I love this tire. If you're looking for a tire with outstanding grip and handling without paying a large penalty in road noise and ride harshness then check here to see if this tire is available to fit your car.

Thanks, this is want I've been waiting to hear. I have a set in my garage right now (Waiting till midsummer as I still have 4/32th left on my Michelin Pilot Primacy) All I care about was hearing about comfort and noise as I know the PSS will be great grip wise.

My 540i with the new ss michelins is twitchy in the steering, feels like the car wants to wander at about 70mph. I did not do this with the pilot sport ones.
any ideas?
