Michelin Pilot Super Sport: 5,000 Mile Update

Friday, June 15, 2012 by Gary Stanley

If you're not familiar with my initial impressions of the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, take a look at one of my previous posts titled "Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tires Installed on My Car."

It has now been over 5,000 miles since my initial post and they're well past their break-in period. Since that time, I've taken a couple of long road trips, driven in intense rain storms and pushed my 2009 Infiniti G37X Coupe around corners pretty hard. I have say that these tires are still absolutely amazing! Our customers agree. The customer survey data that we've gathered since the tire's release has put it at the top of our Tire Survey Results

"Best sport tire I have ever driven. Unbelievable handling, stability, comfort and noise." -- Tire Rack Consumer Review, 2002 BMW 530i Sedan Sport Package

"The Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires are the  best summer tires I have ever driven on. The grip is amazing in the wet and dry. I have had other summer tires in the past that didn't grip as well as the Michelin PSS and were much harder." -- Tire Rack Consumer Review, 2012 Lexus IS 350 Sedan RWD

Keep in mind that the Pilot Super Sport will not work well in the cold temperatures and snowy conditions that I encounter in South Bend, Indiana. During those snowy months, I take off these tires and install my winter / snow tires, the Michelin X-Ice Xi2.
