Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 vs. Sumitomo HTRZ III

The Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 and Sumitomo HTR Z III are very popular and highly rated tires value-oriented summer performance tires. If you have a separate set of winter tires or live in an area that doesn't see any snow or freezing temperatures then either of these summer performance tires are worth consideration.

But which to choose?  Here is my take.

Both tires are outstanding tires for the price and not very different from each other in most measurable characteristics. The HTR Z III has a slightly quieter ride and should stay quiet as it wears compared to the directional tread pattern of the V12 that will tend to get louder as it wears. The Ventus V12 should have a bit better wet traction between the two, while the HTR Z III has an advantage in dry grip/cornering and steering response.

You can view my original blog about the HTR Z III tires and more information here.
