Get Steel Wheels for this Winter Season!

Friday, November 19, 2010 by Gary Stanley

Almost sold on buying a Winter / Snow Tire & Wheel Package, but the idea of paying a lot of money for a separate set of wheels is holding you back?  The solution?  Steel wheels!

Steel Wheels for Winter / Snow Tire & Wheel PackagesWhile there are advantages to stepping up to an aluminum alloy wheel for winter use, the lowest cost option is often a steel wheel. They aren't pretty, but steel wheels are inexpensive, basic and functional without the style and maintenance of aluminum alloy wheels, so for some it is an appropriate choice for winter use.

Steel wheels are not available for all vehicles.  To see if they are available for you, enter the year and model of your vehicle. Select your desired size under "Build Your Own Package," select your tire, then proceed to wheels. Steel wheels are available for some common vehicles including most years of Volkswagens, Volvos, Hondas and Toyotas.

Wheel Cover StylesDon't forget wheel covers! They will be displayed after you add the steel wheels to your shopping cart.

Do you sell Toyo tires?

I am interested in some steel wheels for 2002 VW GTI 337. Size 16" by 6.5 inches, for 205/55 by 16.

Thanks--don

Unfortunately steel wheels do not fit over the brakes on your car. Inexpensive aluminum wheels start at $85 per wheel. We do not carry Toyo tires, sorry.

i have a winter tires of 205/65R15
Do you have a steel wheel that will fit in this and can it be use in my maxima 2009 model?
Thursday, August 18, 2011 by Gary:
Walter,

No steel wheels are available that fit the 2010 Venza, sorry.
Thursday, August 18, 2011 by Gary:
Manny,

The brakes on the 2009 Maxima are too large to fit 15" wheels over them. 17" would be the smallest wheel diameter we've found that fits.

I have an 06 mazda 3 s hatch 205/50/r17, would a 16" steel wheel fit, or should i go with the 17"s? I have the eibach pro kit so was looking for some clearance in the wheel well for northern ohio winter!

I am not aware of any 17" steel wheels. We do carry alloy wheels in 17", however for steel wheels 16" is the largest diameter that we carry. The one we list on our site does indeed fit your car and would be a good choice for winter use.
