Enkei Tuning Series Raijin Wheels are Becoming a Hot Topic

Tuesday, March 20, 2012 by Gary Stanley

I've been seeing more posts and questions about the Enkei Tuning Series Raijin wheel on the BMW forums. Enkei has been producing high quality wheels since the 1950s and is well known by racers and tuners.

This lightweight performance wheel is hub centric for the BMW 3 Series in most sizes and offers outstanding quality. The wheel even carries a lifetime structural warranty. One particularly popular fitment is a staggered 18" setup for 2006-2012 BMW 3 Series cars (often referred to as E90 and E92 on the forums). This 18x8 front and 18x9.5 rear set-up weighs in at approximately 21 lbs. per wheel. The wheels allow for use of the popular sizes of 235/40R18 up front and 265/35R18 on the rear.

The wheel is available in three finishes:

Raijin Black Painted
Raijin Black Painted
Raijin Gunmetal Painted
Raijin Gunmetal Painted
Raijin Hyper Silver
Raijin Hyper Silver

The Enkei Tuning Series Raijin is available for many vehicles besides BMW. Audi, VW, even Nissan 370 Z and Infiniti G37 car fitments are available. The warm weather is here; so enhance your vehicle's look with a Tire & Wheel Package today.

Somewhere either on Enkei or Tire Rack's site you have all available sizes available for specific wheels. I'm looking for more in-depth info regarding your Raijin Hyper Silver for 18" (BMW335i X-Drive M-Pkg)./ I'm considering going to 255's in from and 285's in the rear. Where can I find a chart with all the available sizes (with offsets) listed?

Miller,

I do not have such a chart, sorry. The sizes we do sell for the E90 3 series are 19X8 32mm offset and 19X9.5" 35mm offset.

I have 225/40R18 Enkei Raijins. Can I mount 235/40R18 on these rims for extra rim protection? Also I've slashed 2 sidewalls from just moderate potholes. I feel like the tire sidewall at 225 is lined right up to the lip of the rim ready for the rim to compress right on the sweet spot of the tire and cut it.

Ray,

I can check to see if 235/40R18 tires would fit, but I will need the width of the wheel.

The 225/40R18 is the size of the tire, but does not tell me how wide the wheel is. The wheel width will be stamped on the back of the wheel itself.
