Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 vs Blizzak WS80

As stated in "Sneak Peek at the New Bridgestone Blizzak WS80", Bridgestone has all but dominated the Studless Ice & Snow performance category with their Blizzak line of winter / snow tires. Their multicell winter tread compound dramatically increases winter traction in slippery conditions so much, that it changed perception of what a snow tire can do. These tires actually outperform traditional studded tires without the drawbacks of using metal studs. And last season the aging but still competitive Bridgetone Blizzak WS70 was replaced with the new Blizzak WS80.

Now that we have a full year of customer feedback on the Bridgestone Blizzak WS80, we can state with confidence that Bridgestone has continued its record of producing class-leading winter tires. In nearly every measurable area, the Blizzak WS80 winter tire has made improvements over the previous generation, especially in snow traction, ice traction, wet grip, dry road handling and high speed stability. As a result, the newer Blizzak sits in the top position in our customer survey tire ratings in the Studless Ice & Snow category and provided better snow traction in our head-to-head test against other top winter tires.
