Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500New this year and quickly rising to the top of our customer survey data is the Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500 tire.

The Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500 tire is an Ultra High Performance Summer tire that was designed for drivers looking for outstanding dry grip, wet traction, cornering ability and fast steering response. Like all summer tires, these are not designed to be used in freezing temperatures but really shines in the warmer and weather.

Here is what a recent customer had to say from our customer reviews:

"These tires really blew my mind. I moved from the PZero All-Season 235/55/17's that came on the car to these in 255/45/17 (a little wider, but not THAT much). The traction is unreal. I used to be able to break traction with easy. The car would spin the Pirelli's once the powerband hit in first, and then break them loose during 1st to 2nd gear changes unless the road was steaming hot. With the new tires, I have to work to break them loose. And by work, I mean WORK. I can practically floor the car through a 90° turn in first and not even hear them squeal. I used to push my car to break loose around one corner, would take it at 35 mph and punch it in second. To get the same effect, I find I have to do the same at 50 mph. That said, obviously they aren't racing slicks. There are most definitely stickier tires out there. But for the price and the mileage most people seem to get out of them, these things are the bargain of the century in my opinion." -- Tire Rack Consumer Review, 2005 Ford Mustang GT Coupe
