Initial Review, 4,500 Miles on Tires
March 07, 2013

I spent about a year researching tires to replace on my 2008 Lexus RX 350. I replaced my Michelin Green X Latitudes. I was pleased with the life of the Michelin's treadware but found over time the ride became more stiff and the tires cornering was not that good.

Based on the research and commnets found on Tirerack, I chose the Pirelli's Scorpion Verde All Season. After 3 months and 4,500 miles, I can say that these are the best tires I have ever owned. They make my Lexus SUV more nimble with quicker responses to handling and cornering; they provide a smoother, quiet ride as compared to the Michelins; have not experienced any hydroplaning; and they have quick stops.

I know that tire dynamics can change over time and I will have to wait and see if these tires exceed my expectations over the long haul but as of now I am a very satisfied with my purchase.

Initial Review, 500 Miles on Tires
March 05, 2013

Finally after having a really bad set of tires two times last summer with the Michelin Primacy MXM4 94W 245/40/19 which resulted in vibration and pulling, I changed to Continental Contiprocontacts for few months. I am a Michelin guy and know that Michelin makes the best tires out there. The Continentals are average tires with poor steering and ride is mushy. I decided to retry the MXM4 in 94V rated with new production dates.

So here goes. The new MXM4 are outstanding. They balanced perfectly with very low road force numbers. The ride is super smooth and very tight (sporty) and gives great road feedback. No vibration at any speed. The steering is well centered and the noise level is very low. The traction in the light snow last week was very predictable. I am so happy to be back into Michelin and getting their best products again.

The car handled well in dry conditions. The noise level was high. They lasted 25000 miles. I replaced them with Bridgestone Potenza. Better in every respect except not as responsive. They lasted 32000 miles. The noise level was much improved as was wet weather grip. I have now put Michelin Pilot Super Sports. What a great tire!!
Better grip, lower noise level, improved ride. They handle great.

Initial Review, 24,000 Miles on Tires
September 17, 2011

I've had the Primacy MVX4's on my car for 3 years, accumulating only 24k miles. The first winter they were excellent in any type of snow. The 2nd winter they still performed great during winter conditions. But the 3rd winter, traction was noticeably decreased in snow over 3-4 inches. Performance, noise, and tread wear has been excellent except for moderate to deep snow. I am considering buying winter tires this year, as I anticipate the MXV4's will not perform well in the snow going into the 4th winter (despite having < 25k on them. If you don't plan to drive in snow, I highly recommend these tires. They are the best all-season tires I've driven in 20+ years of driving.

After a ton of research. We decided on these Bridgestones. They are replacing a set of Mich.. All I can say is that I have the best tires. The Lexus would sway into curves. I figured it was the Lexus not the tires. I was wrong the handling/ride/noise is far greater than the Mich.. I am amazed. No change in gas mileage a far better tire. Bridgestone has made a great tire. I also saved by using tirerack. Verses the Mich. I saved over $300.

Overall quite happy with these tires. They are smooth, comfortable and priced great for Michelin's. They seemed to wear great also, with lots of tread left. They help with mileage as claimed; I went from 9.8L/100km's to 9.3L's/100km's-- approx 1.5 MPG, so that was an added bonus.
On my vehicle they could be 5% quieter would be my only complaint. In the last 2000 miles or so they were becoming a bit louder, but not objectionable.
These tires are not great in the snow as noted-- I got caught in quite a bit before switching to my snows for the season. They are passable in a pinch, but everyone should be on dedicated snow tires if snow is on the ground regularly where you live anyway, right?
I would also not buy these if you want handling and responsive road feel, as that is not these tire’s mission. On my luxury SUV, they are a good fit for highway cruising but if you corner hard you will feel the soft sidewall flex and they don't have a very responsive steering feel. They are quite lightweight though so that helps keep them from being ponderous feeling. They drive fairly nimbly actually. They are 2lbs per tire lighter than the LX4's that were on my vehicle, which is quite a bit for unsprung weight. Even though these Energy Saver's are softish they never feel too soft, nor fully in control of my heavy SUV. If I owned a sports car, my opinion would not be as high though.
In the end I would happily buy these again as long as the price doesn't go up much from where it is and I guess that's the best endorsement a tire owner could give.

Beware of this tire if you want them to last a while and want to be pleased. It is not a good tire for a Lexus GS AWD 2006-2011. I had OEM run-flats that I replaced with this tire. It has not been a good experience at all. The tires pull very badly even after proper maintenance. The problem started at about 10,000 miles and has just gotten worse to the point it is severe. The tires have been rotated and the car has been kept in alignment. The tires pull hashly and the pull causes the car go out of the lane when the steering wheel is not held tightly. The dealership I use to have my car maintained mentioned that these tires were "directional" and some vehicles do not do well with "directional" tires. This vehicle is one of those. Also, these tires are not good for wet, snow, or ice traction. I live in southern IL, which we do not get too much ice or snow, but when we do, I cannot count on these tires to get me through even with the AWD I have. Would not buy again if they were the only tires offered. The ride has been nice and the noise low, but the problems with these make these tires a Do Not Buy Again for me.

First of all, lightning fast shipping to military APO AE (shipped 4JAN, arrived 9JAN)!!! First 500 miles and am a happy camper. Roads here in Germany are a mix of cobblestone, concrete, brick, asphalt and the Paradas have proved to be 10fold better in all respects than the michelin mxv4 they replaced on the RX330. Quiet ride and handle much better; much less vehicle roll into the corners/curves. Haven't had them in snow, but that is to come this weekend...

Replaced OEM Dunlops with this tire. Have retained excellent traction qualities of old tire plus reduced noise considerably. Lexus is already quiet enough now even quieter. The tire is a little more responsive than the Dunlop but keep in mind this is a soft riding car (I have the air suspension). I expect these tires to last a while given my driving style - the LS430 is not meant to be driven hard. These tires suit that driving style very well without giving up stopping and traction ability. No issues during break-in that I have noticed. Just enjoying this tire day in and day out - I drive about 54 miles a day total for my commute.

Very good tires in the snow. They give alot of confidence when cornering and braking in the snow. Smooth at city speeds but do transmit more of road vibrations compared to summer tires on the highways 70 plus mph. Likely due to aggressive tire patterns compared to the older PA3. All season tires are smoother then these on the highways, Despite that, the tires are very well balanced and do well in handling department. Road noise is minimal on asphalt roads but howl on the cement roads a bit. Overall they are great for winter performance tires.
