Had DWS on a 2006 Subaru Tribeca for 22,000 miles and loved them. With the Subaru AWD, they were superb. Now have them on my 2005 RWD G35. Much smoother, much quieter ride with no loss of steering response. Excellent in light TN snow. No hydroplaning unless it is deep standing water. Dry traction is most impressive. No noticeable wear after 6,000 miles. They have the same mild flat spotting after mult days parked that the Subaru had; smoothes out in the first 2 or 3 miles. All-in-all, the perfect tire for my needs.

Great tire so far, very quiet, all I hear is my exhaust. Handling and grip is excellent. Driving in serious heavy rain and no worries. So far this tire has exceeded my expectations, for the money I think it's a great value. So much difference from the OEM Goodyear RSA (which are the crappiest tires ever made). I feel much more confident in my car's handling with these tires and so much more comfortable. As long as the treadwear is good I will definitely buy another set. Thanks to all the other reviews on this tire that helped me decide on buying them.

These tires have been great from the moment I had them installed. After 30,000 plus miles, they still have more than 50 percent tread. Wet road traction has diminished a bit since new, but is still very good; this is normal with performance tires in my experience. That said though, I can still corner with confidence on dry roads without braking. I'm not sure why they are only rated as summer tires because they got me through two winters and handled the snow much better than the seasons I replaced. They're still fairly quiet up to this point and also impressive is at how well these tires have stayed in balance. This will absolutely be on the top of my list when it's time for new tires.

This is my 3rd consecutive set of Yokohama Parada Spec-X's on the Infinti FX35 AWD. I average around 45,000 miles per set and they are an all-around excellent value for the money. Excellent tread life, great dry/wet responsiveness, and great ride comfort and low noise. I would not hesitate to recommend these to anyone with a similar crossover application. I will buy another set for this vehicle when these are done.

These are OEM tires on my 2009 Infiniti G37x. They are driven in spring/summer/fall and never in the snow. I put 37,000 miles on them.

The Dunlop is an average tire with good road holding (dry/wet)on the highways. However it creates fairly loud noise on road joints. During the last year the car jarred on ruts and became very sensitive on the steering (pulling to the sides especially on braking). The wear on these tires is quite acceptable. I replaced them because of the handling issues and age (5 years).

The Dunlop is more expensive and not cost effective. I put on a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3 which I have yet to test.

These are exceptionally strong tires. Changed my first set after 42,000 miles. Driven up into the Rocky Mountains and they handled great going up a and down the hills and breaking was good all the way through the life of the tires. Wet weather traction decreased over time but the traction control system took care of any sudden attempts to spin the wheels. These tires give you confidence on the highway even on uneven surfaces.

I love these tires. replaced my OEM tires for 2011 Infinit G37x. they beat OEM tires in every aspect (quite smooth ride, grabs the road very well, good traction on wet road as well). it could be mental but i think i get better highway mileage too. the only thing i regret at this moment is that my lease is up in 6 month and i didn't get these tires earlier.

I have had these tires for a few weeks now, they are much better than I expected. Dry traction is awesome. I had to do a emergency maneuver to avoid a accident on the highway at speed, and the tires shocked me how well they held the road, on other tires I would have went sliding. Wet traction is better than average. Cornering is very good. Noise of tires is not noticeable at all until you are coming from at speed to a stop then you hear the some, but it is not over powering as some have indicated. At speed you don't hear the tires. Nice tread design they look way more expensive than they are if that matters to you. Tire Rack was great on shipping as always, great service.

These are horrible. Loud, stiff, unresponsive junk. They are a Run Flat tire so that's got a lot to do with it. I replaced them in 1000 miles with a set of Bridgestone SP-04s: what a HUGE difference that made in the car! These go into the cellar for the end of lease return.

I was very hopeful of these tires due to the high ratings here and the fact that it came with a nice mail-in-rebate. Bought 225/55-17 to replace OEM Goodyear RS-A of the same size on my G37. After 6000 miles, I felt like the tires didn't live up to my expectation. It seems like a poor fit for the G37 - it's neither sporty, or comfy. The ride is a little rough and road noise is very obvious, even when new. I felt like the OEM Goodyear had better ride and noise quality when new, even though people on the forum criticize it. On the issue of mpg, these were touted to be LRR "eco/green" tires, but yet again, I was disappointed to see less than 0.5 mpg improvement, which is within my record-keeping variance. Some of the positive that I'm seeing are: lighter steering due to lighter weight, good wet traction, and long tread-life. I'll also add that I got my mail-in-rebate card within one month, which is pretty good. However, I felt like my G lost a step with these tires, it doesn't turn as sharply, feel as luxurious, or handle as well as it should. Maybe all these traits were sacrifice for the long-tread life, I don't know. I will be considering something else when the times come.

I am ridiculously happy with these tires. They have been on the car for nearly 2.5 years and 35K miles. The DWS in the tread is still all visible; S is supposed to disappear first, indicating that snow use is not advised. Our WA freeways are pretty rough, so they are a little noisy, but on a smooth surface they are still very quiet. I have more issue with the wind noise from the ski box then with tire noise. I have only driven in light (2") and packed snow and I felt very confident. The Tiguan is kind of a GTI-inspired SUV, and the handling is crisp and responsive and the Contis enhance the driving experience. I like these so much I put them on the wife's G37x Infiniti in January. The OEM-supplied Dunlops tramlined severly; these have greatly reduced that symptom. Not enough time or miles yet to make additional comment.

March 26, 2014

I live just outside of the Washington, DC area, home of the just about the worst traffic in the country. Luckily, my daily commute consists mostly of free flowing highway driving with light traffic (down the new ICC toll-road) so 70+ mph is my usual pace there. Otherwise, my normal driving is suburban stop & go, daily grind, sort of stuff. These Kumho Ecsta 4X tires are my 3rd set of tires on this vehicle and by FAR the best I've used. The stock tires were Goodyear Eagle RSA's and as the reviews for those state, they were completely average tires with poor handling in anything but dry conditions. My next set of tires, Yokohama Avid V4S were old standby's that I'd had before on a previous vehicle. They were great tires, especially for the money. At 107,500 I was ready to purchase new tires as I usually always can get 50K+ mi. out of my tires. I read a lot of reviews about the newly redesigned Yoko's but couldn't help noticing the great reviews that the Kumho Ecsta's had received. I took a shot many years ago with Yoko's and have been really happy with them on both my G35x, Ford Explorer, and my Honda Accord V6 coupe. Sorry for the rambling, but just wanted to give some background. In any case, the price on the Kumho Ecsta's was great, and the trusted Tire Rack reviews convinced me to give them a shot on my G. I've had these Ecsta's now for 16,500 mi. from 2/20/13 to current (one year) and loved every minute of these tires. The ride is great, the noise level is adequate, and handling whether through our 90+ degree HUMID summer to our 10 degree lows in several inches of snow in the winter has been nothing short of spectacular at every level. I would highly recommend these tires.

March 04, 2014

It came as OE for my infiniti which is AWD. I am researching tires for my other car as unfortunately I sold my infiniti, over this last snow storm my new car slipped and ran into curb causing lots of damage. Any case I used to drive on these tires in snow and quater inch ice. Actually I was the designated driver for my co workers as they usually got stuck at home due to ice. I live up a hill and had no major trouble getting in and out with significant ice on the road and no one else on the street even trying to attempt the drive.
The reason I chose to write this review was most infiniti EX owners are unhappy with this tire. I had a very different experience with them.
The road noice was better then average. They seemed to absorb pot holes well. Dry and wet traction was above average ( never really could slip them despite quite aggressive driving ) ---- near close to Bridgestone potenza pole one my BMW 535i ( which is the highest rated tire for that car), another comparison I can do is for the duler sport AS which are again OE on Infiniti JX AWD (highly rated on tire rack surveys ) again these Dunlop beat them hands down in snow and ice traction. I suspect duler sport AS might be some better in summer/ dry conditions.
I suspect some folks expect too much from their all season cross over tires. They are not summer performance tires. My suspicion is that owners of small cross overs with powerful engines think that their cars should perform like sports cars they really are not , the chassis is too soft (for compliant ride) center of gravity is too high. Infiniti EX will never perform like a BMW 335i or 535i all of these have v6 motors and about 300 horses to spare. That is one reason I swapped EX with a S5 which is sitting at a body shop.
I usually don't write reviews but reading these mixed reviews about dunlops I felt like I needed to share my thoughts/experience.

One of the best all round tires I've seen for passenger cars and minivans. I've had this tire on 2 minivans, a 1994 and 2007 Caravan and a 2002 Subaru Outback. On the Outback, they would pull through 8" of snow with no problem. Have never had an issue with wet traction or hydroplaning on any of the vehicles. I have 86,000 miles on them on the 2007 Caravan, and even at that point in their life they were OK in light snow and the slush left after snowplows went through. The tread wear indicators still aren't showing. My only complaint, and it's really not issues with the vehicles I've mentioned, is a slight lack of responsiveness in the steering, something I attribute to the rather soft sidewalls. So I would not recommend them for a car which is intended for (cough, cough) spirited driving. For instance, I would not put them on my Infinity G37, even if they were available in the right sizes and speed ratings.

Keeping in mind the price-point of these tires, I have been very impressed with their performance to this point. I have about 2000 miles on them and have driven them in just about every weather condition. Wet/dry traction has been impressive and I quickly gained confidence in these tires in light snow. In heavier snowfall, I adjust my driving style to the conditions, but, have had no problems whatsoever with takeoffs or turns. Ride comfort and noise level are at least on par with the OE Eagle RS-As. As others have stated, treadwear will ultimately determine if this was a great buy.

Initial Review, 2,000 Miles on Tires
January 30, 2014

Bought these to go on my girlfriend's infiniti. Replace some old Goodyears. I'm one for spirited driving and these tires hold up well for that. dry grip is solid and it takes some pushing to get these tires to their limits in a big sedan. very stable overall, but there's a very slight hesitation when doing sudden course correction (did a quick homebrew autocross when the tires were new). Most people won't notice it but i'm used to driving an Mr2.
Wet grip is great for an all season and im constantly impressed by how stable it is and its resistance to sliding. You can get it to slide if you push too hard, but i can take the same turns comfortably at 80% speed wet vs dry. wet braking is a little less impressive, as it will engage the ABS quickly if you stab it too hard, but generally good braking performance in light and heavy rain.
Snow/ice performance is average for an all season, Light snow being significantly better than deep, but i've only needed to dig myself out once this winter, so from standstills/parking it gets you going just fine.
I drive with traction control off most of the time and i have to actually try to lose the rear end on anything other than ice. very predictable when a slide begins as well.
For the record, i live in Chicago, so i've seen wet, dry, snow and ice in the same week.
Rides a little harsh and drones a bit at 70mph, but those are acceptable trade-offs for a the perforamnce/price envelope this tire gives.
four/five stars.

I also had Conti DWS Extreme that I did not like and took off the car! These tires are as good if not better than the DWS. The Hankook s really surprised me in this category. I don't think you will be disappointed. we have had 4 major snow storms, ice and frigid temps since I had these.....

Only have 500 miles on these, but what a HUGE improvement over the OE Potenza RE050's that came on this car. The DW's noticably smoother & quieter with no noticable loss of cornering ability or control. Best of all the horrid tramlining this car is notorious for is completely gone! Have not driven in the rain yet, so can't comment on the wet handling. So far, 2 thumbs up - price was very reasonable too.
