Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Sensors for Your Car

Monday, January 24, 2011 by Hunter Leffel
Tire Rack carries TPMS sensors for vehicles at great prices and offers the option of pre-installing sensors if you purchase a wheel and tire package. And since, TPMS sensors have a battery in them, they'll need to be changed on average every five to seven years.
Aluminum Valve Sensor
Do your TPMS sensors need to be replaced?

Sensors available at Tire Rack are 100% compatible with your vehicle's wheels and tires.

Federal law on all vehicles built after September 2007 requires the system and in some states the system must remain functional at all times. Reset procedures differ between manufacturers and vehicle models and can range from simply driving the vehicle (auto re-learn) to a manual re-learn that requires special equipment. You can contact Tire Rack's sales specialists to discuss the specifics for your particular car, truck or SUV.

I have a 2005 A8L Audi. Warranty replaced 1 TPMS since the sensor was back and it still showed battery life. Other 3 sensors dealership says have no battery life so warranty does not cover. How much for 3 TPMS for this Audi? And what brand are they?
Thursday, June 23, 2011 by Hunter:
Hi,
The brand for your 2005 Audi is Beru. This is the same thing that Audi uses.
Current price is $96 for the sensors and required valve. Shipping inside the the US runs about $10.

Thanks!

Wroy,
Thank you for your inquiry. I believe your souerce is mistaken. There is only one sensor for that vehicle year. It is the 315 MHZ.

Hope that helps.

2008 ford Escape 4cyl. My TPM light is on. How do i know what wheel or wheels that are not monitoring ??
Wednesday, August 10, 2011 by Hunter:
In a system that simply triggers the light, so far as I know, you would have to have the dealer diagnose which sensor has failed.

Hello, i have a 2008 VW EOS V6 and the Summer Wheels have the TPMS installed but my Winter Wheels do not. since the "system" is installed already, all i need are the 4 sensors for each wheel right? not the kit as well? so how much for the sensors and can i install myself (limited automotive experience) ? also how much for these sensors with shipping to APO? thank you.
Tuesday, March 20, 2012 by Hunter:
Hi Shiv,
The sensors for the VW Eos run $53 each. I would defer to a tire and wheel installer for putting them on. I will need your APO zip code to get you a shipping charge. If you want them, it will be best to call at 574 287 2345 ext 744 or toll free 800 428 8355 same ext.

Take good care,
Hunter

I have a 2004 Infiniti G-35 sedan with the TPMS light on. How does a service provider diagnose which sensor is bad? Must all four tires be removed from their rims? What is the cost for one replacement sensor?
Tuesday, May 1, 2012 by Hunter:
Barry,
The sensors are $53.00 each plus about $10 shipping inside the continental US. In regards to troubleshooting the system, I must defer to the Infiniti dealer for that process.
