Better Priced Options for the 19" Equipped Ford Escape

Some of the newer Ford Escape models are arriving on dealer's showroom floors installed with tire size 235/45R19. Unfortunately, there are only a handful of options in that size and they tend be on the higher side of the price scale.

There is hope out there though. We have found an alternate size that offers more choices and has a lower price. This alternate size is 245/45R19. It will be about 10 mm wider and taller than the original size. The speedometer will have about 1.5% error, therefore, you'll be off by 1.5 mph when traveling 100 mph.

A popular choice in this size is the value-priced Sumitomo HTR A/S P02. This tire has been a perennial favorite among our customers looking for a deal. While adequate in every category, it's not going to blow you away in any particular category other than price.

The Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus is a leader in both ride quality and snow traction. If you want a good winter performer but do not want to purchase a set of winter tires, the Pirelli is the one to try. If you live in a warmer climate or have dedicated winter tires and want to step up the cornering and handling of your Escape, the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3  should not be overlooked. It is flat out impressive in performance driving situations while offering some basic all-season capability.
