This was my second winter with the arctics on my tdi sportwagon. The tires performed flawlessly all winter, for the price you pay you get more for your money than other more expensive tires. If you live in the snowbelt area and do not run seperate winter wheels and tires your only kidding yourself for foul weather performance! I have been running seperate winter/ summer wheel and tire packages from the tire rack since the late 80's! Great people selling great products at reasonable prices!

I have always prefered a Michelin tire, and have had great service from them over the years. The prices are high, and I have wondered if part of that is paying for the name? A few years ago, we purchased a new truck with General tires on it, and the tires performed flawlessly. In fact those 11 year-old Generals were are currently on a farm trailer, and show no signs of dry rot, or other problems. After much thought, I decided to give these Generals a try. These tires are very quiet and smooth. They have great resistance to hydroplaning, which is a feature that I like a lot. The tires are not great in the snow, but than a V-8 powered RWD car is not so great in the snow either. I have a designated AWD winter vehicle, so winter traction does not matter to me. We live in the mountains with lots of winding roads, and tires get punished around here. I have the car set up with a stiff aftermarket suspension, so it rides harsh and corners like a sports car. The car no longer handles like a traditional Crown Victoria. Infact this car has seen an AutoCross track more then once... The OE tires where very soft and the car had a tendency to oversteer with them on it. These tires take the curves very well. So far they have passed the test. I plan to purchase three more sets, one for my wife's Crown Vic, and two sets for our two vintage Pontiac Trans AM show cars. For the price, nothing else compares. General seems to have hit the mark!

We had a very dry winter in Denver until April. I was quite pleased with this tire on dry pavement. It has very good traction for a winter tire and is amazingly quiet. I finally got to see it perform on the snow, and it met all expections. Easily the best snow tire i have ever driven. And the price is excellent, too.

I like in North/Central New Jersey and previously drove in and around PA. I do a lot of highway driving now. I would describe myself as a "spirited" driver. I have 70K on these tires. They are the only tires I have ever purchased for my car after the OEM tires wore at 35K and my car has 105K on it today. I just took my Civic to the dealer last night and the service manager at the Honda dealer told me my tires were basically new at 6-7s. So I would highly recommend these tires. They are reasonably priced and worth it. I drive in snow, ice, rain and sleet. I never miss work for weather so I drive in some tight situations. The tires haven't let me down.

A good tire for the price, a little noisier than expected, but if I wanted a quiet tire I would have gone with michelins. Previously had pirelli scorpion atr's, they were the best tires I ever had on my truck, did everything far beyond my expectations, but the price jumped up $300 for the set so I started looking at other options. Decided to try these out, I liked the all terrain tread for the snow and driving on the beach. So far holding up well, probably get 35 to 40,000 out of them, not bad for the way I drive. A lot of tread squirm for the first 2-3,000 miles but settled in after that, had to slow down a lot for the on/off ramp almost felt like I was going to lose it, but never lost traction though. But, after 2-3000 miles the uneasiness went away and the back end didn't fell like it was going to pass me anymore. They definitely don't handle like the pirelli's they replaced, it helps to remind me I'm driving a full size truck and not a sports cars. I'm sure I added about 10,000 miles to the life of the tires because of it. Not necessarily a bad thing.

A very good tire on a Volvo V70. Very good to excellent in most areas of
the tire rack survey. Very good snow traction(up to 5") for an all weather tire.
Ride comfort and noise level are also very good. These replaced Michelin MXV4
at half the price, AND much better in the snow.
I'm very satisfied.
I hope General keeps making this tire thru 2014.

I have a set of these Michelin LX4 on my Odyssey EXL. I had always been happy with Michelin in the past on my Honda Accords and Nissan. They are generally more quiet than any other tires of comparable costs, particularly when they get olders (35K+). This set performs well for the most part with no exception. I rotated my tires every 7.5K so they wear evenly and keep the pressure between 35 to 40 psi depending on the weather (high pressure during the winter months). They are very quiet on the city and highway unless the road surface have grooves but never pave up in some states. I'd say that we did about 30K on high way and 20K in city. They are probably good for another 4-5K in the summer before I have to replace them. The tires traction is very good in dry, wet or light snow conditions now that the tread had worn out but it is used to be good in 4-6 in" of snow too when it was newer. I will likely replace them with the Michelin Defender which has a better tire life (60K+) for almost the same price. I think if the Defender is quiet as this tire, I will be happy.

I put these on my son 2004 Saturn L100. It's no race car so at $74.00 per tire and ranked so high on the survey I figured why not? What a great tire. It is such a quiet smooth riding tire! They handled great in the rain and light snow. The "Sam's" only major manufature brand he had couldn't even get him up a slight incline here in NC when some snow fell. I was honestly really surprised how well these tires rode, handled, and great treadwear for such a low price. This might be one of best bang for the buck tires going.

Nice tires resonable price. Good weather tires perform well but off road or snow they are lacking. Tread wear is very good and they stay in balance very well as they wear. There is no difference in mpg from the original Wranglers tho. In general I would buy then again.

Got these for my WRX this winter.... And I have one piece of advice for prospective buyers.. Do not buy if you plan on sliding around in un-plowed parking lots. There is actually TOO MUCH grip in snow. These tires = NO FUN IN THE SNOW.

But if your driving tendencies are a little less spirited than mine I would HIGHLY recommend these to anyone. They are by far the cheapest brand name snow tire on the market. But by NO MEANS does that mean they lack in quality.

Where you will notice the difference immediately: Forward movement. Spinning your tires trying to climb over the city snow plow wake is a thing of the past. Also getting a rolling head-start at a stoplight is no longer needed. Its as if the snow isnt even there.
Where you will notice the difference later: Turning capability in snow. These tires have the best turning traction I have seen. (short of Nokian winter tires.. which are 2-3 times the price of these Generals.)

Last thoughts: If/when you buy these fantastic snow tires. Don't forget to get a couple sizes narrower than the stock spec. Contrary to popular belief, tires the width of a pizza cutter will do EVEN better in snow.

I cant wait to put these on every car I own next winter. Highly Reccomended

Threw these on after summer when it became a little more slick around Seattle. These tires are much better than the Kumos I had on before and are about the same price. The only only compliant I have about these tires are that they have more road noise on the highway than my old tires and are a little more squrley over 80mph. I had them checked to see if they needed to be rebalanced but they were within spec. All in all a good set of tires for the money.

This is my second set of these tires. My first set I had on an Acura RSX and they handled amazingly well with that car. So I purchased for my new FWD Mazda 3 Hatchback and mounted them on my stock rims. These tires are amazing in the snow. The car handles like an AWD car now with these tires.

I did some winter camping with friends that had 4WD trucks and to get to the campsite, you had to drive up a pretty steep snow covered dirt road, then drive down a snowmobile trail. The combination of these tires, traction control and manual transmission helped me get up the hill and to the campsite no problem. My friends with the 4WD trucks were making fun of me for wanting to try it, until I got to the top of the hill....they were pretty impressed.

For the price/functionality...buy these tires.

A generally competent 3-season tire - decent everyday ride and handling, but surprisingly stable and with good grip when really hustled. Turn-in could be sharper, but otherwise a very good compromise at a good price.

I normally use dedicated snow tires, but I got caught in a surprise 4-5" snow this past fall. I was able to get home, but would never drive these in the snow if it could be avoided.

So time will tell the whole story. I think the price for the tires were great. If they continue to preform well, I will definitely buy them again.

Simple review - Fantastic tyres really in every respect. Outperform the best Michelin Touring tires by a mile (no pun). Frankly, the best tyres I have ever purchased, and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a higher end touring tyre, and whom doesn't want to pay the Continental price - you even get a better tyre than Continental with these Bridgestones. Bottom line, you get what you pay for, and irrespective of this rationale, you just get great value comparitively. I will never buy Michelin (or anything else for that matter) again after these.

Side note - Bridgestone in general; I purchased a set of Blizzaks a decade ago and they completely outperform ANY other snow tyre I've had before.

Just a great manufacturer.

PS, don't be fooled by 'Turanza with Serenity Technology' you have to get the 'Serenity Plus'.

Great in rain and snow. Decent in mud as well. The ride quality is not the best but the price was right and the warranty is there. Tire looks good on the truck too. Looking forward to seeing how they hold up.

Probably the best tires I've owned. These are comparable to Conti DWS I had in my previous car but at a better price. I replaced all 4 of the OEM ContiProContact's on my GTI and wow what a difference. Wet traction is very good and I always feel confident in the way my car handles now. Last week we had a huge blizzard in Mass and the roads were still a mess the next day but these tires handled it like a champ. I actually had to go up a steep hill with 2 tires on a snowbank because the road was too narrow and I actually got up without any problems. I highly recommend these tires for anyone looking for good all seasons at a good price.

These tires are an excellent combination of wet and dry performance. The only negative so far is that they thump when cold for a few miles after starting out. They are the best snow performing all season tires I have ever had. They grip well in dry cornering with just a hint of looseness at their limit. Excellent for the price.
