Had DWS on a 2006 Subaru Tribeca for 22,000 miles and loved them. With the Subaru AWD, they were superb. Now have them on my 2005 RWD G35. Much smoother, much quieter ride with no loss of steering response. Excellent in light TN snow. No hydroplaning unless it is deep standing water. Dry traction is most impressive. No noticeable wear after 6,000 miles. They have the same mild flat spotting after mult days parked that the Subaru had; smoothes out in the first 2 or 3 miles. All-in-all, the perfect tire for my needs.

Initial Review, 17,550 Miles on Tires
March 26, 2014

I live just outside of the Washington, DC area, home of the just about the worst traffic in the country. Luckily, my daily commute consists mostly of free flowing highway driving with light traffic (down the new ICC toll-road) so 70+ mph is my usual pace there. Otherwise, my normal driving is suburban stop & go, daily grind, sort of stuff. These Kumho Ecsta 4X tires are my 3rd set of tires on this vehicle and by FAR the best I've used. The stock tires were Goodyear Eagle RSA's and as the reviews for those state, they were completely average tires with poor handling in anything but dry conditions. My next set of tires, Yokohama Avid V4S were old standby's that I'd had before on a previous vehicle. They were great tires, especially for the money. At 107,500 I was ready to purchase new tires as I usually always can get 50K+ mi. out of my tires. I read a lot of reviews about the newly redesigned Yoko's but couldn't help noticing the great reviews that the Kumho Ecsta's had received. I took a shot many years ago with Yoko's and have been really happy with them on both my G35x, Ford Explorer, and my Honda Accord V6 coupe. Sorry for the rambling, but just wanted to give some background. In any case, the price on the Kumho Ecsta's was great, and the trusted Tire Rack reviews convinced me to give them a shot on my G. I've had these Ecsta's now for 16,500 mi. from 2/20/13 to current (one year) and loved every minute of these tires. The ride is great, the noise level is adequate, and handling whether through our 90+ degree HUMID summer to our 10 degree lows in several inches of snow in the winter has been nothing short of spectacular at every level. I would highly recommend these tires.

Keeping in mind the price-point of these tires, I have been very impressed with their performance to this point. I have about 2000 miles on them and have driven them in just about every weather condition. Wet/dry traction has been impressive and I quickly gained confidence in these tires in light snow. In heavier snowfall, I adjust my driving style to the conditions, but, have had no problems whatsoever with takeoffs or turns. Ride comfort and noise level are at least on par with the OE Eagle RS-As. As others have stated, treadwear will ultimately determine if this was a great buy.

Hands down the best winter/snow tire you can purchase if your car can mount 17' wheels. I just traveled up the east coast during this past week's major snow storm that hit the south/mid-atlantic (2/13/14) and I never had a moment where the car felt out of control or that I could not traverse a patch of snow or ice. My experience is that of a car with AWD so that being the case these tires made it feel as though I was on a regular surface when trouncing through half a foot of powdery snow.

These tires can give a sense of over confidence though, because they're so good at stopping you and at getting traction specifically. This doesn't mean you're impervious to very deep snow or won't get your car stuck doing something stupid. What it means is that you're more capable of getting around in heavy snow with these tires then arguably any other set here on Tire Rack. Yes, they are that good.

Wow, these tires rock. I have gone through a bunch of different tires on my car (Kumho Ecsta 4x, Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position, Continental ExtremeContact and Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus to name a few). Since I drive aggressively, I don’t get to many miles from my tires.
I live in the northeast and have already experienced 4+ inches of snow with these tires along with icy/slushy hail, and high 70 degree weather (imagine that in DC area in Winter!). These tires are ultra-quite, have great predictability in steering, and awesome performance in snow/ice/dry weather. Even though there more expensive than other tires, I will be making sure to place these on our other cars when those tires wear out (Mustang and Infiniti FX45).
Hopefully Pirelli doesnt stop selling these tires.

This tire has been decent for an OEM. Car started to tire pull/drift to the right recently. Gotten noisier at the same time, too. All tires still wearing evenly. Tread life remaining: 2X the wear bars, but winters coming and the rains making em a bit slippery. What little ice/snow Ive driven on, its not a good feeling (slip-slip-slip)Even though theyre an ok tire, Ive always done better with non-OEMs for performance and price. Ive had great experience with Khumos on other vehicles. Its a great tire even w/o considering its price.

I purchased these continentals to replace older Sumitomo's. I love them on dry. They are much quieter than my previous tires have very nice response and handling. I got to try these tires when the blizzard approached on Long Island yesterday. In three hours on almost a purely icy road the car was solid stable no sliding or skidding and handled beautifully far beyond my expectations. Driving up short Hills that were unplowed I was able to pass many cars that were not making it.
Some of these attributes can surely be an attestation to my all-wheel-drive vehicle. I would highly recommend these tires. The only thing I cannot comment on his treadwear as at this point I only have about 900 miles on them

Dunlop SP Sport Signature Still a Top Choice in the High Performance All-Season Category

Wednesday, September 11, 2013 by Gary Stanley

With tire technology advancing quickly these days, it's rare to find a model of tire that stands the test of time and remains competitive in its category year after year. First introduced over six years ago, the Dunlop SP Sport Signature is one of those tires. Even after this many years, it continues to hold its own against newer tires in the High Performance All-Season category. If you're looking for a great all-season performance tire at a good price, the Dunlop SP Sport Signature is for you!

With over 2.6 million miles reported, the tire is currently ranked third in our survey results. This is a higher ranking than other popular tires including the Yokohama AVID ENVigor, Goodyear Eagle GT and BFGoodrich g-Force Super Sport A/S. The SP Sport Signature is often praised for its good road feel, quick steering response and great combination of wet and dry traction.

Take a look at what some of our customers are saying about their experience with the Dunlop SP Sport Signature:

"These have been such fantastic tires that I am now on my third set. Great dry weather traction and awesome treadwear. I have been very pleased with these tires." -- Tire Rack Consumer Review, 2003 Infiniti G35 Sedan

"These tires handle great. I have almost no road noise and they handle great on wet pavement. Even with my aggressive driving habits they wore perfectly. They were a great buy for the money." -- Tire Rack Consumer Review, 2001 Lexus ES300

"The Dunlops have transformed my car. I've gone from such noise to such quiet and smooth riding and handling. For a car with 280,000 miles on it, the difference is astounding. I'm very happy with the purchase of these tires." -- Tire Rack Consumer Review, 1998 Honda Accord Coupe EX V6

tires performed well for the low price when new and up to 25000 mi. with 27k on them i'm seeing my traction control light come on when pushing the car a little bit on AWD car. wet traction has gone to poor when cornering or accelerating. snow traction has gone to below average. had a little snow/ice mixture and car failed to make a careful turn, had no braking and mowed down a stop sign on the opposite corner at 15-20 mph. had to replace tires.

I purchased these tires based on their rating for rain and snow, and I was not disappointed. I live in San Francisco, and I am able to ride to Tahoe comfortably on light snow with no chains when most other cars stop.

On the negative side, the ride is a bit harsh and noise level is much higher than on the original tires that come with the car. But it's a trade off that I am happy to make in order to have better safety and handling in rough weather.

Tires are on my wife car and she drive like an old lady. However when I drive it, I put it to the limit and it handles great. Noise level isn't too bad but could be better. My wheels are staggered so I can't rotate them. Plenty of tread left, hopefully it last to 40K miles. I would recommend these tires.

The G35 I purchased had first generation Hankook Ventus tires on it, which roared like bad wheel bearings and provided very little traction when it was wet. Switching these out for the Comfortreds have been the best things ive done with the car. They are quiet at highway speeds 70+, stick in wet and dry conditions and have a nice controlled feel. The ride of the G35 can be a bit harsh, but these seem to have tamed the beast a bit Super agressive drivers will probably prefer the OEM GY Eagles as they are a bit more sticky in the high speed/tight turns.

This tire would not balance on my car...period!!
The dealer had to use 24 & 26lb weights (which is unheard of) and they still wouldn't balance. I don't know how many people had the same issue, but i definetly wouldn't reccommend them for the G35x.

Infiniti owners, save yourself the trouble and get bridgestone blizzaks.
They're not as soft as the generals and handle better as a result.
They also seem to have better quality control!

This is an update to my previous review with a few more miles on the tires. Still very disappointing. We had some decent snow here a week or so ago, so I could test them. Braking traction is good in all conditions, but cornering is awful. I still feel slippage on turns in dry, wet, and snow conditions. It's interesting that traction in snow is about the same as wet pavement. All season? Not really-not even that great on dry pavement. Sporty? Not unless you like sliding through your turns. A step or two down from the Goodyears that came on the car and many steps down from the Dunlops.

Initial Review, 500 Miles on Tires
December 25, 2012

I have used an earlier version of this tire on my previous car, the 2005 G35 coupe. I remembered the amazing winter performance of this tire so when it came time to get dedicated snow set for my new BMW I went straight for the Bridgestone WS70. On the burn in I notice them wander some on dry 40F+ road while doing 75+ mph. Below those speeds they are more than acceptable in 'warmer' conditions, I expect them to improve with burn in. Last night I had a chance to experience them in below freezing conditions with 1+ inch of snow. They are amazing. You do have to be somewhat easy on the throttle though as any moderate acceleration will spin these tires with the 300 torque the 335i has. In New York, in the summer, Ultra performance summer tires are the way to go, in the winter stud-less ice and snow are the ticket. You will sacrifice quite a lot of the dry performance BUT! you will be unstoppable in the winter conditions. I have maneuvered around countless SUVs with there AWD and all-season tires while they are struggling to keep in straight line. I have had now 10 years of blizzak winter performance use, I have used winter sports tires in the past (dunlop m3 sport) and although they are better behaved in dry conditions, they do not measure up in bad winter weather.

Bridgestone WS70 ... like a boss.

Initial Review, 43,500 Miles on Tires
October 16, 2012

Bought these tires based on reviews off tirerack, and have not been disappointed. Currently @ 43K miles of mostly highway driving on a set, and still about 40% treadlife left. I'm actually amazed at the (lack of) wear. I might get 60-65K miles out these by the time they should be changed. Performance in deeper, soft snow is excellent, but I'm sure the AWD system of my car helps a lot. I have no fear of driving when the white stuff flies.

Tire noise has increased towards the end of the life, but nothing close to unbearable. Ride is still smooth and soft. Rain performance has always been good, but AWD system probably helps here as well.

I would definitely by these tires again, especially if I make 60K miles before needing to replace them.
