I have had these tires for a few weeks now, they are much better than I expected. Dry traction is awesome. I had to do a emergency maneuver to avoid a accident on the highway at speed, and the tires shocked me how well they held the road, on other tires I would have went sliding. Wet traction is better than average. Cornering is very good. Noise of tires is not noticeable at all until you are coming from at speed to a stop then you hear the some, but it is not over powering as some have indicated. At speed you don't hear the tires. Nice tread design they look way more expensive than they are if that matters to you. Tire Rack was great on shipping as always, great service.

I have had a positive experience with these tires so far. In snow up to 4-5 inches and snow plow packed snow the tires perform adequately (4WD capable vehicle). Wet traction is above average even at highway speeds. Dry condition performance is also above average. The tires ride a bit firm and there is some road noise at highway speeds but it is at a low level. These tires are an excellent value and offer enough performance if you need a low cost tire option. Tires are still too new to gauge rate of wear.

These tires were installed less than 1 month ago, so I can't testify to their longevity. However, I am very impressed so far with their performance. Since installing, the car has been driven regularly in rain/snow/ice weather conditions. These tires provide excellent traction and handling on side roads as well as the interstate. For driving in wet/winter weather, I recommend these tires. As for treadwear and longevity...only time will tell. Stay tuned!

my previous tires were expensive Michelin for a sports car and they wore out fast even with moderate driving (less than 75mph ever). the Michelin's never felt right and were always noisy. these cheap tires feel smooth and make no road noise! important with a canvas roof where I hear everything in the road. Purchased just this weekend and already feel confident that these will wear well. Have yet to experience tire in bad weather but already great improvement over last tires that were supposed to last longer and wear better but did not. With what I paid for those tires I could have replaced them twice with these so I will stick with these from now on.

Can't beat this tire for the price. Its not great at any one thing, but is good to very good in general. I wasn't looking for high performance, so this tire exceeds my needs. During our 15+ inch snow, the tire did well with minor slips and still rides nicely on the highway in the summer.

I live in the northwest and it rains all the time, so I have a lot of experience with wet traction and hydroplaning. I have not had enough time to evaluate the wear characteristics of the tires, but so far they have provided a smooth, quiet ride with superior wet traction and very good dry traction. I will further update once I have more miles on the tires about the wear characteristics.

Tire Alternatives and Options for Your 2009 and Newer Honda Fit Sport

Wednesday, December 18, 2013 by Hunter Leffel

Time for new tires on your beloved Honda Fit Sport? The Original Equipment size of 185/55R16 offered two options, the Bridgestone Turanza EL470 and Dunlop SP Sport 7000 A/S. Regrettably, but not all that unusual for Original Equipment, they do not fare that well in our customer survey results. Looking for some other options? Then consider changing the tire size to 205/50R16. This size is only .1" taller and about 3/4" wider than the original tire. It will mount onto the factory wheel and fit without rubbing or other fitment issues.

In this alternate size you will find many options from all-season tires to summer performance tires. To learn about the different performance categories tires fall in and find the one that's right for you, read "What Tire Performance Category Do I Need?

A long-time favorite, this Grand Touring All-Season tire features a directional pattern for better wet grip and comes with a 55,000-mile treadlife warranty. It was developed to be a smarter tire for smarter drivers by addressing many of the treadwear quality and year-round traction challenges faced by drivers of today's sedans and coupes. This tires is a great bang for your buck!

Continental ExtremeContact DWS

The ExtremeContact DWS is for the Honda Fit Sport owner who's more of a spirited driver. This Ultra High Performance All-Season tires is currently ranked first in its category and delivers very good winter traction.

ExtremeContact DWS tires feature Tuned Performance Indicators -- visible letters molded into the second rib from the outboard shoulder to alert drivers of the tire's performance levels. A visible "DWS" indicates the tire has sufficient tread depth for dry conditions, as well as wet roads and light snow. After the "S" has worn away, the remaining "DW" indicates the tire only has sufficient tread depth for dry and most wet road conditions. And after the "W" and "S" have worn away, the remaining "D" shows the tire only has appropriate tread depth for dry conditions.

Fuzion Touring

For the value minded customer, this is a quality product from Bridgestone. This affordably priced tire is designed to blend good treadwear, a quiet ride and all-season traction on dry and wet roads, as well as in light snow.

What Are the Best Replacement Tires and Size for the Honda Fit Sport?

Thursday, June 20, 2013 by Hunter Leffel

Time for new tires on your beloved Honda Fit Sport? The Original Equipment tires in the 185/55R16 size were available with two options, the Bridgestone Turanza EL470 and Dunlop SP Sport 7000 A/S. These tires, however, didn't fare all that well in our customer survey results. With that in mind, consider the following offerings in the 205/50R16 size. This size is only .1" taller and about 3/4" wider than the original size. It'll mount on to the factory wheel and fit without rubbing or any fitment issue.

In this alternate size you will have options ranging from Passenger All-Season to summer performance tires. To gain an understanding of the differences between tires, read "What Tire Performance Category Do I Need?"

Replaced my really worn out BFG Traction TA/V tires with these tires. They were by far the best tire and to my happiness, also the least expensive. My brother suggested this tire and reported he loves them. I will say that these tires made my car ride so well, it is like it is new. I try not to rip around corners but the cornering on these H rated tires is nearly as good as the V rated tires I removed. Very happy so far and they also look decent.

Well this is a pretty crappy tire. It doesn't accel in any category that I can tell. The wet traction (where it's supposed to shine) is not all that good. Neither is the dry. The noise is ---awful now that they are about 60% worn down.....all in all it's not really any good.

I'll go back to a Fuzion ZRi or BFG G-Force Sport before this again. The ONLY redeeming quality was the now gone rebate I got.

These are like the Kumho Ecsta SPT only worse in every way by a slight amount...except price...much pricier per mile.

Initial Review, 10,000 Miles on Tires

After 10,000+ miles on my Saturn SL2 I am ready to leave an informed review:

My old tires were Fuzion HRi 195/60HR15, roughly the same price range. They lasted me 50,000 miles. I recorded 33.3mpg over 20,000 miles. The new tires are averaging 29.4mpg over 10,000 miles, no other changes to the car and the drop happened the tank after I switched.

What that means is that with these tires I have paid $160 more in gas so far than I would have with my old tires ($4/Gal). By the time I reach 50,000 miles I could have bought 2.5 extra sets of the other tires, which handled and rode significantly better.

Sorry Continental, you failed.

The ride seems comfortable and quiet to me. An absolute win win for me considering the price. Thank you TireRack!

I just had these tires installed, so far they are great. I haven't really had a chance to push the limits on them since, its still around 40 degrees and its a summer tire. The road noise is minimal, i would say the are just as quiet at the OEM Continental tires. They do have very stiff sidewalls which is nice, when it comes to steering input. If these tires keep up on how good they are doing, ill be mad i didn't purchase another set since they discounted them. If your still able to pick up a set from a tire dealer i would recommended getting them. Tire rack sent these to my door for $300, and i only had to pay $85 for mounting and balancing.

Very Awesome tire! My rear Fuzions have a little over 1000 miles on them and my Front Fuzions only have 400-500 miles. The tread shows little wear on the whole set and they still look brand new! They Ride very comfortably and smooth and there is no noise from them what so ever. We just had a blizzard here in Texas and they did a very good job in the snow and on ice. Makes a car with 229,100 miles on it handle and feel brand new. I Will defiantly be buying these tires again.

Looking for Affordable Tires?

Wednesday, February 20, 2013 by Ben Rooney

Here at Tire Rack, we built our business on higher performance tires for more exotic applications. The inventory expanded over the years as we also carry tires that are targeted toward regular cars used for everyday transportation, and tires for the enthusiast on a budget.

Fuzion, the entry level brand from Bridgestone, often has the best-priced tires in a given size. Though not as well known as its older siblings from Bridgestone and Firestone, Fuzion tires offer an excellent value. The Fuzion Touring is a smooth riding, all-season tire that's very aggressively priced, while the UHP is Fuzion's new Ultra High Performance All-Season tire designed for sporty handling combined with capability in cold weather and light snow.

Kumho has been a stalwart in the performance-per-dollar arena. Little known when they first came to the United States, they have built a loyal following over the past decade or so. Their Ecsta 4X is often my go-to selection for a value-oriented all-season performance tire. The Solus KR21 does consistently well in surveys among customers needing a regular all-season passenger tire.

Among light trucks and SUVs, the Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S G051 has an excellent combination of long treadwear, reliable performance and an excellent price. With each option fitting into most budgets, you're getting a great tire for your vehicle as each is currently ranked in the top ten in their class.
