Great tire....best UHP All-Season Tire for the money hands down. Great in snow and tread life is long. Sharp looking tire which is also light weight compared to most all other tires. Tires went on my Modded +300 HP 2008 Taurus (FWD).

Quite simply, if you live in the snow belt (as I do - Minnesota is roughly Scandinavia West), you MUST keep a set of 4 of these tires on winter rims. Now, no tire will keep you safe in ANY vehicle if you insist on driving 50 mph on packed snow and ice, but these are by far the best Winter ties I have every used. Use common sense and a light foot, and you are basically going to get through anything other than pure glare ice. During the latest major storm which virtually paralyzed the Twin Cities metro, I found myself able to even go UPHILL in my front-drive sedan past SUVs and 4X4s that were unable to move at all. Outstanding Winter tires. John C. - Eden Prairie, MN

2000 Ford F250, 3" lift. Extended cab, 8' box, topper 8" higher than cab and LOADED with carpentry tools. Unbelievable wear despite weak attempts at rotating. Super Duty has solid front axle and is notorious for being hard on front tires. At 84K, I still have some tread left to use up. Best snow traction I have ever experienced, almost don't need 4wd, but live in MN. Tires are relatively quiet. I had them professionally siped when new, gaining even better ice traction. Some told me siping would cause premature wear, but at 84K, I am elated. Never had a truck tire with decent tread over 50K miles. I run at 85psi always, and truck is always loaded and overloaded. I have overloaded the weight capacity on occasion without issue. I will buy these until they quit making them. The nice part is, with that kind of mileage it won't be too often!

My first ever set of snow tires, I've lived in Michigan my entire life and always thought snow was something you just learned to drive in, tires were less important than your ability to handle conditions. I was wrong, this was the year to learn this lesson, I haven't seen the pavement on my road since December 18th, it snowed 3 more inches this morning, March 1st. These inexpensive tires have turned my old T-bird into a winter driving wonder, I haven't had this much snow fun since I was a teen. Snow tires don't just let you go in the snow, you can turn and stop also. Experimentinig in places I know to always be slippery, I could slamm on the brakes and it just stopped, Ican't say it's like driving on dry pavement but it sure is confidence inspiring. It makes winter driving feel safer. I will never go a winter without again.

Tire Advice for My Cousin's Dream 2011-2013 Ford Mustang V6 Manual

Wednesday, March 12, 2014 by Cy Chowattukunnel

My cousin is in the market for a new car. What should he get? He's looking for a muscle car big enough to fit his 6'3" frame and at a price around $17,000. Unfortunately, the 2015 Ford Mustang (pictured below) won't make the cut.

Since he needed to move on from this dream car, he started looking at the 2014 model. He checked out a lot of cars at the show, but kept going back to the Mustang. It just felt right!

With many pre-owned Mustangs in the market place, we needed to narrow it down further. In 2011, Ford switched from the old 4.0L V6 and 5-speed to the 3.7L V6 coupled with a 6-speed. Power went up to 305 horsepower and 280 ft-lbs of torque, so he needs to be looking for 2011-2013 V6 Mustangs. I know he'll end up finding the right one.

However, if he stays in Chicago, his middleweight, powerful rear-wheel drive Mustang is going need help in the winter. If he goes with a 2012 Mustang, I would advise purchasing the 225/60R17 Studless Ice & Snow Michelin X-Ice Xi3 on black or silver 17x8 45ET MSW Type 19 wheels.

225/60-17 Studless Ice & Snow Michelin X-ICE Xi3 $135*
225/60R17 Michelin X-Ice Xi3
17x8 45ET Black Painted MSW Type 19 $104*
MSW Type 19 Black Painted
17x8 45ET Silver Painted MSW Type 19 $118*
MSW Type 19 Silver Painted

I like the X-Ice Xi3's blend of ice, packed snow and dry road grip and the MSW Type 19 matches the Original Equipment width and offset. Its solid 5-spoke angular design is a good match for the car's temperament. With a little winter driving advice and the right tire, he'll do fine handling Chicago's rough winters.

After so much struggle trying to find the right tire, I saw a video on you tube about the Winterforce tires. I was so impressed with the performance that I did a little more research and decided to try these tires. I am so glad I did!!!! for real!!!! Got them installed on our 2002 Ford Windstar last November for my wife and kids. We are so glad we did. This 2014 snow and Ice has been one of the worst for us. My wife drives to work and school and feels secure as these tires grip it's far one of the best. Sine I work about a 1/2 hour away from my house i have piece of mind knowing that my wife can drive under any weather conditions. I recommend them to anyone!!!!!!!!!!

Bought these for my wife's 2013 Explorer Limited. I had to drop down to the base 17" wheel size due to the lack of available snow tires in her 20" wheel size. I've used BF Goodrich on most of my 4x4 trucks and these are certainly the best road tire I've used! I live overseas where marble is used as an aggregate for the roads and these grip the road like no other tire I've used. It handles snow and ice with ease and even grips well in the mud.

The only down side is the road noise. It's not bad at all but you will hear them. After 2500 miles on them it hasn't changed much. Good trade in my opinion for a tire that you can feel confident driving on in bad weather.

I have a 2011 F-150 supercab 4x4 with the 5.0, i have the 275-55-20's. I got over 66,000 miles on these tires. They were awesome until about 45,000 miles then seemed to lose their traction in the rain. they are very quiet and resist punctures. I had them rotated every 5000 miles with my oil changes by the ford dealer. They are way better then the good years which are so loud they will give you a headache. they have outlasted any other tire i have ever owned. They are better then any other tire on dry pavement, but the BF Goodrich all terrain t/a's are much better in the sand and mud if you can take the noise. The only down fall is the price.

Great Ride, Almost No Noise, I love Michelin Tires and run them on all my equipment. Took very little weight to balance. I went from Pirelli Scorpion All Weather O.E.M. tire to the Michelin X-ice Winter ties and actually gained 1.5 MPG, going from 25 to 26.5MPG. I thought the traction was great but this is the first time I have put winter tires on a car so I have nothing to compare them to.

This is my daily driver so I had to buy a set of snow tires after going through a rough winter last year without them. There is a lot more snow here than back home. I decided to invest in snow tires and boy was I surprised when I first got to test these bad boys in fresh snow. Initial reaction was joy and amazement. I had them mounted on right before a big storm hit. I had traction like crazy. I was the only one on the left lane able to conquer the storm. But that snow was not as bad as recently where it actually snowed hard and stuck to the ground. Since my car is low by default, I was able to clear snow up to about 8-10 inches of snow before the rear axle was blocked by thick snow. This was my no fault of the tires. I was able to go drifting in snow with precise control with these. These tires love the cold weather as well as the snow. I strongly recommend these to anyone interested in snow tires. I chose these over the Xi3 from Michelin due to price. I know granted that my car is RWD and has a good amount of horsepower, there was some slippage if you don't feather the throttle. By no means is this tire perfect in the snow, but it does give you good tread life.

After burning thru the Pirellis PZeros that originally came with the care in 10k miles and checking out the price and availability of those same tires I decided to try an alternate brand and ran with BFG G Force TA’s which I was able to get 15K out of. I was afraid that I was going to be stuck with budgeting $2000 a year for tires, until a friend recommend I try the Michelin Pilots. Yes they too were expensive but I have been able to put over 28K miles on these tires and I am very pleased with the performance. Are they Racing Tires? No, but they do perform very well for everyday driving and cruising. I believe that we could have gotten another 8k miles out of the tires except that we took a long road trip thru AZ and NV and the continuous hot pavement driving really ate up the tread. The Michelin Pilot SuperSports were by far a better value than my other options to date.

The first winter and about 15,000 miles with these tires were actually pretty good. However, the second year and an additional 20,000 miles have proven to be a bit too much for them. The tires are constantly losing traction in all kinds of snow/ice and the snow remains packed into the treads despite efforts to keep them clear. I pretty much have to stay in 4x4 mode all the time in order to maintain proper traction and control. The tires are rotated every 5,000 to 6,000 miles. No complaints during dry conditions. Not sure if they are going to last the warranty miles.

When I got these tires as a Christmas gift, the salesman remarked that they were "an awful lot of tire" for my Taurus. But, sometimes, too much of a good thing is exactly what you need, even if you dont have to drive like Jimmie Johnson or Jeff Gordon..This tire doesn't care if the pavement is dry, drowning in a downpour, covered with slush or underneath a bed of clean, powdery snow.from a dusting to several inches. Beautifully smooth, quiet ride. My car sits outside and the brutal cold of this 2013/14 winter didn't bother it, either. There were no flat spots from sitting 8-10 hours in subzero temps-they just roll with it. Excellent control and handling on the unplowed, powder-covered or snow-packed roads here in the Chicago burbs. These are simply the best overall tire I've had regardless of weather or driving conditions for a passenger car

Had these tires installed in early November 2013 and have driven in sufficiently varying conditions to write an initial review. Plain and simple, these are the best d@mn tires I've ever driven on in rain, snow and ice. There is a peace of mind you get with these things that no matter how bad the snow gets, you WILL get home. They laugh at rain. From time to time, they feel a bit "wobbly" in cornering but it's livable. Mileage seems pretty good, but that's relative in a gas-guzzling Ford Exploder. I'll check back in another 5000 miles to comment on treadwear, but so far, so good. Tire Rack pricing and shipping was excellent as usual. Highly recommend the Road Force Balance as it made the truck as smooth as the day I bought it.

First reaction to these tires was, why is my car so much quieter? Apparently the OE Goodyear tires contributed more noise than I realized. Ride conform was also noticeably improved. If this were the only reason I purchased these tires, then this would be enough. But I was even more impressed with winter driving experience as I drove immediately to northern Michigan for the Sno*Drift rally which lead me down many snow and ice covered two track roads, which it handled with ease. Temps were in the low single digits and below zero and traction in snow or on pavement was excellent. The return trip south on expressway, I was able to use the snow covered left lane with confidence. At this early stage of ownership, very happy. Looking forward to judge performance on dry roads in warmer weather.

We bought these tires in Oct based on research on Tire Rack, it was an excellent decision! Right off the batt the ride was comfortable and relatively quiet, during hard cornering or panic stops they stick. I Im an average driver but from time to time i do push my car close to its limit and im not worried about loosing it, off ramps, sweeping turns and such feel good. But the BIG impression is the snow ability of this tire, this winter has been bad from Dec on snow after snow ive been pleased on local and expressway roads with little to 8'' (before the bottom is dragging) of snow or slush and hard pack you have confidence in the traction you have, my wife even said she felt that way and she hates driving in the snow. Now ice is a little different its not a snow tire but it is better than other tires ive had in the past. I will buy these again, I wish there was a greater selection in sizes for my other cars ( Mercury Marque and old Accord)
