Had Pirelli P Zero same size tires which was original equipment for this vehicle.
The Pirelli's had to be replaced at 24,000 miles with a little life left but started to wear down the center as well as overall tread depth.

The Michelin AST 3 Sport are quieter, corner better and are overall sure footed on wet pavement.

I'm keeping up with tire pressure, rotation and balancing (coming up) as I did with the Pirelli's but I am hoping that I will get 45,000 miles out of them as rated.

These tires have been outstanding in all conditions. Snow traction has been phenomenal especially after one of the worst winters in 10 years. Wet traction very good. Tires were quiet but have gotten louder lately due to some uneven wear. Regardless of the other reviewers ill-guided opinions, I don't blame this on the tires, it was due to my car's alignment.

Don't let the fact that some drivers don't care for their cars and/or strike fixed objects reflect poorly on the tires they purchased.

I am purchasing a set for the wife's new Focus and I will be getting a new set for my car before the winter.

After 2 weeks of driving and one autocross, my reservations about this tire have receded. I read the reviews and felt comfortable enough to purchase them, mainly because they were the only tires that worked for autoX that were in my size. My concern stemmed from most reviews were on light cars and Mustang is much heavier. After an my last autocross, I am very happy with them. The weather changed from sunny and warm to cloudy and overcast and I felt very little change in the grip and feel of the tire. The OEM Pirellis were much more sensitive to weather changes and did not provide the same grip. Needless to say I am very happy with my choice.

I spent about six months researching tires, finally chose the Destination LE2's, and they've been a great choice for the price. They're quiet and responsive on dry, wet, and mildly snowy roads. I didn't have to deal with any deep snow last winter but I don't have any reason to believe they'd be a problem. I haven't experienced any significant change in fuel milage. They handle well with an empty bed or with a cord of firewood, in the city or on the highway. Finding good road tires for a Ranger can be a challenge depending on how you use your truck, but I think most owners would be as pleased with these as I am.

Best All-Terrain Tire Choices for 275/55R20 Size

Not too long ago, 20-inch tires were rare, exotic and mostly reserved for high-end European SUVs or show vehicles gracing the cover of automobile magazines. Those that were available were ultra high performance tires, often with little to no all-season traction and wore very quickly. This is not the case today. In fact, 20" tires are an option on many popular trucks, SUVs and domestic and import crossovers. 

Of the 20" sizes that are used, one of the most common is 275/55R20. This size is often used on SUVs like the Cadillac Escalade, Chevy Suburban, Ford Expedition and GMC Yukon. Trucks that commonly use this size include the Chevy Silverado, Dodge Ram 1500, Ford F-150 and can even be used with 20" wheels on newer Toyota Tundras. 

A popular misconception is that one can't find more aggressive On-/Off-Road All-Terrain tires in this size. Overall the Eagle F1 All Season tires have exceeded my expectations. NOTE: I purchased them from Goodyear in 2010 but don't see them listed above. I previously had a set of Goodyear F1-GSD3 tires on my 2003 Mustang Mach1 which provided outstanding wet and dry performance at all speeds. After replacing the F1-GSD3s with the Eagle F1 All Season tires, I was pleased to find that they offered performance almost as good under most circumstances. They provide very good road handling for highway and city driving and have enough grip to handle quick cornering. I would definitely consider purchasing these tires again.

I've enjoyed having these tires on my car. They seem to be wearing very well, they are a quiet and comfortable tire. I live in a dry climate so no reports for heavy rain or snow. Moderate rain performance has been good. Handle the twisties very well!! Good job General!

PRO’s these are probably the best highway tire I have ever had. I’ve made several 600+ mile trips and am impressed with the highway manners of these tires. They are quite on all road surfaces, the wet traction is excellent (starting, stopping & turning) and these tires will go straight on the highway regardless of the crown. This past weekend we were driving in the middle of nowhere IA in a thunder storm. As we crested a hill, we spotted an accident that required emergency braking. I was looking for a bailout path however didn’t need it because these tires gripped so well, in the rain, we safely came to a stop with room to spare. These tires are slightly larger than the BFG’s that were on the truck which makes them look good. If you drive mostly on the highway or don’t mind a very firm ride, these tires should be on the top of your list.



CON’s, these tires are stiff. I drive on several streets that are more akin to a series of patches than a paved road. These tires will beat up both you and your truck. On roads that are rough you will feel every dip, bump & crack. I have aired my tires down to 34 lbs on all corners hoping to get some cushion from the bad roads. I am worried when the cold weather sets in, these tires will be too hard. If you drive in conditions where a softer or more forgiving tire are preferred, these tires should go at the bottom of your list. The BFG Rugged Trails were better on these roads.



TEST’s, installed the tires had 34.7 lbs front & 37.5 rear. I wasn't happy so I aired up to 40, it was worse it felt as if the axles were welded to the frame and my speedo was off 1.5 mph compared to my gps. I lowered the pressure down (in increments) to 35 (Ford's Recommended Pressure). Now I'm at 34.5. This gives me the best ride for both highway & city driving. This is also the pressure we had when the emergency stop was required. I’ll update after we get some snow and cold.

These tires are not all they're cracked up to be. They don't save on fuel. They're noisy and bumpy. I might as well have had summer slicks when I was driving in a dusting of snow. My Michelin snow tires were quieter and provided a smoother ride. My next set of "all-season" tires will be Michelin brand.

This was original equipment on my 2012 Explorer AWD. li was very pleased with the mileage -- the best i have ever received on an original equipment tire. I expect to usually have to trade them out at 20,000-30,000 miles but these are jus starting to show their wear bars at 51,000.

I absolutely love these tires. First off I matched front and rear sizes to 275/40/17. The have been wonderful in all driving. The front tires will out last 2 sets of rears however that is my heavy foot's fault. These tires are sensitive to pressure adjustments. Chalk test them so you have the right air pressure. They do loose some grip the more they wear down. But that being said these tire down to the wear bars still have better traction worn than a new toyo proxies. I absolutely love these tires and I hope BF keeps making them

These tires have served me well. Until I see another manufacture do as well as these I will never switch. Your gonna see alot of people bash tires on here because they did not follow the proper balancing procedures and break ins while using these tires. they are quiet and grippy. I love them

I absolutely love these tires. They are the perfect tire for city and highway driving. These tires have a responsive ride. That is, they give you immediate feedback from the road surface. They provide stable and sharp handling on turns. They are not for those that prefer a soft spongy ride. What I like best is they are great on dry, wet, and snowy pavement.

I had these tires on my 1993 mustang that I use for autocross when it was still in stock condition. My biggest complaint about this tire is the road noise. When compared to a tire like the old Toyo Proxes4, the Comp 2 is terrible for road noise and comfort. However, performance wise for what they are I would say they are the best in the category. I trashed these tires doing autocross. They do not like heat, but no tires at this level do. What impressed me most about this tire is how much grip it still had when it was worn to just about nothin'. I run the Rival now on a very modified 1993 mustang. There is no comparison. The Comp 2 is a very great street tire and can handle more than anyone can throw at it without committing a felony. I can't give these tires a fair treadwear rating because I trashed them, and nearly trashed a set of Toyo proxes4 immediately after just because they are simply not designed for the demanding heat cycles of road racing/autocross. I would recommend this tire to anyone who daily drives their sports car. This is a great tire, just not a track tire. It is predictable and precise.
